Y/n's classes until lunch went by rather slow. She was excited to finally get some food in her stomach. Only thing was, she didn't have any. Inosuke had made her drop her lunch box earlier that morning, leaving her with nothing but a busted yogurt and what was left of her turkey and cheese sandwich.

She supposed she'd have to rely on the school line today.

"What's in the lunch line today, Kanao?" Y/n asked her close friend as they weaved in between hungry students to set their things down at their usual table.

She shrugged. "Why- where's yours, anyways? You usually always bring your lunch!" she asked, her brows contorted in questioning.

A scowl overtook Y/n's features as she named the culprit.

Kanao lightly chuckled before shaking her head.

She whipped to face her. "What's got you laughing?"

Kanao shook her head once more before giggling at the ground. "He just- he makes you so mad, and for what? He's not that b- well, he's bad but I think once you get to know him-"

"Get to know him? We've known each other for six years and I've been in all his classes for four of them! You can't tell me I haven't gotten to know the kind of rude, arrogant, pompous piece of shit he is!" Y/n rambled, pulling a sigh from Kanao.

"Sure, but you should give him a chance. He's really sweet- deep, deep, deep down. In fact, you may realize the two of you don't have that many differences," Kanao smiled as the two of them sat their things down on the table and Y/n went to go get her lunch.

"In fact, you may realize the two of you don't have that many differences."

Seriously? She must have heard wrong. There was no way she had any similarities to Inosuke Hashibira. No way, no how.

But then she thought again. They both loved food, they were both good at sports, and they both had anger issues. But Y/n wasn't pompous, repulsively annoying, and loud, was she?

She was starting to overthink a few things, here. There's absolutely no way they were in any shape or form alike. Is more or less what she told herself.

Though, the two of them shared an intense passion for winning at everything they do, even if Y/n didn't go on a rampage when she didn't.

Inosuke had always reminded Y/n of a boar- he's always throwing himself into situations head first without thinking. I mean, he got into a fight with Genya last year because his boyfriend looked at him wrong.

But, to be fair, Muichiro thought Inosuke was an idiot. This got Genya a broken nose, though, which Muichiro profusely apologized to him for.

Y/n's cousin wouldn't necessarily be incorrect, though. Inosuke could be an idiot. In fact, it was what he was known for at Kimetsu Academy. Inosuke Hashibira: the school's dumbass jock.

He played almost every sport out there, and that frustrated Y/n to no end. Not only because at least one of her friends played every sport the school had to offer so she'd also have to watch him play if she went to her friend's games, but because he was the best on every team he was on.

This irritated Y/n to no end. Why was the only sport he didn't join was volleyball? It's not like she wanted him to join, but it would make sense, right? They needed more players like Tanjiro and Takeo, but she couldn't bring herself to ask him to join. Her pride was too strong. Maybe that was another thing she and Inosuke had in common.

She shook her head and continued back to her seat next to Kanao with her lunch tray, frustrated at herself for thinking so much of the boy she despised so much.

That didn't stop him from entering her thoughts, though.
