CHAPTER NINE

Davina's POV

Excitement filled my whole being as i returned home after spending the whole evening with my son, knowing he would start living with me in three days made my heart flutter. The elevator opened and i was about to step in when i saw my Mr. Allergy all so serious in black draped coat waiting for the private elevator to open.

Strange, that wasn't what he was wearing this morning.

"Hey Mr. Allergy." I called as i walked up to him. He just stared at me while i talked;
"Shouldn't you be resting, you had to change and go out? Are you trying to get yet another allergy?"

"Do you just go about talking to strangers? Shouldn't you be cautious of......"

"Don't try to avoid the topic young man, it's a done deal that you make sure not to get sick again, else you'll have it with me."
I said and walked back to the building's public elevator, he just stared at me dumbstruck, the elevator opened and i got in.

I did it again, didn't i? i made him speechless.
I giggled at his reaction.

My condo has two bedrooms, and in excitement, i went ahead to get the second one ready for adrian's coming. Mr. Zane has already made preparations prior to this mission, that was thoughtful of him considering what the vlog wrote about him. I wondered why he rarely surfaced out in the open recently, according to sally, did he have an ugly scar or what? Is he scared of people?
My phone rang and i hesitated when i saw the screen;

"Hello Mr. Sawyer, what can i do for you?"

"Can i ask what the weekend is like for miss sanchez, probably we go out on a date?"

I folded my fist so hard i could feel my nails digging into my palm, this man always had a way of irritating the hell out of me.

"Hello, are you there?"

"I'm sorry, but my weekend is choked up already."

"That's sad, i was really looking forward to knowing more about you miss sanchez."

"Probably another time Mr. Sawyer."

"Alright then."

I hung up immediately and screamed my lungs out, how pissed i was at that moment. Still, i had to gain his trust in order to complete what i was assigned to do.

Adrian and i had fun at the children's park, i could tell he had always wanted this, he and i going to the amusement park on a weekend. He also told me he wanted to go to the beach as well and i couldn't refuse his request, every moment i spent with him was special.

"Mom, right here!" Adrian called my attention. Turns out i was daydreaming again, leaving him to play all my himself.

"Sorry Sweetie, mommy zoned out again."

"Aunt said you do that all the time because you're used to it."

"Really, how come?"

"She said you were not allowed to have a cellphone at work, so you only communicated through letters. I still have all the letters you sent me, you have a pretty handwriting mom."
He gave me one of those cheeky smiles.

"Oh yeah." I laughed, tickled and chased after him. It felt relaxing to know my letters helped to pacify him for my absence, and he couldn't feel my sadness and fears through them, instead he felt my love.

The last place we visited was the mall, while adrian was checking out the stuff toy machine for what he wanted, i was busy on my phone with lilian. A woman approached adrian;

"Hello cute little boy."
She touched him.

"I'm not a little boy, i'm a grown up boy ma'am."
I quickly rushed over to snatch my son away from her, turned out it was maxwell's mother, Lara Sawyer.

"I'm so sorry, he just looks so much like my son when he was his age. Except for my maxi's eyes were a deeper shade of blue."
She said, then she looked at me carefully.
"You sure look nothing like her."
I knew what she meant.

"Let's go son."

"But i haven't picked a bunny yet."

"We can get it later, we need to go now."
I said, still gazing at lara who was smiling at adrian. Then a little girl ran towards her, she was roughly about five or six years old, she had blond hair with sea blue eyes just like maxwell's.

"Grandma, grandma..."

"Why are you running about? Where's that stupid mother of yours."
Lara said, looking around for the child's mother of course.

"Clarissa messed up herself again, mother went into the restroom to change her diaper."

"Why are you not with her? I told max i wanted to stay home, but he made me a babysitter of three annoying.....'girls' urgh."
I watched lara walk off in anger, while the little girl scurried after her.

Of course, typical lara to complain about every little thing, i only felt sorry for those poor kids and their mother because i could  imagine the torture they were going through. Lara Sawyer was one mean and horrible woman any lady would have as a mother in law, the way she said 'girls' only meant one thing, she didn't get what she always wanted. A grandson.
I subconsciously held on to adrian tight, i called lilian and she picked after the first ring;

"I'm planning on changing adrian's hair color." I said, adrian looked up at me and shook his head.

"But why? Did something happen."

I looked at adrian, how do i tell her about lara without sounding like i actually knew her, he would ask questions.
"A woman saw him at the mall and said he looked a lot like her maxi when he was adrian's age."

Lilian was silent, then she said;
"You ran into lara sawyer at the mall?!"

"I love how smart you are."

"Did she recognize...."

"Absolutely not."

"Then you have nothing to worry about."

"Really?"

"Yes, relax."
