The Queen's Pleasure

The cuddles

Carina sent word to Maya that she wouldn't be able to join her for dinner. She had to attend to some urgent matters of the townspeople. She informed Maya through Jo, that Maya was welcome to eat dinner in Carina's room and that if she was tired she could sleep in Carina's bed. Carina would join her when her work for the day was done.

But Maya was a fidgety little soul. So after dinner, she took a walk around the castle, hello-ed some of the guards who'd turned into friends, and even passed by the throne room to get a peek at her queen. The Queen hadn't spotted her but Maya could tell Carina was tired and could use a good night's rest tonight. Maya went back to the queen's room and because she didn't want to sleep yet, she decided instead to soak herself in the queen's bath.

She stripped herself naked and made her way into the bath and sat back. She let the warm water relax her muscles and let her mind drift to her only thought these days. Carina.

Maya was brought out of her fantasies when she heard the door open. She smiled to herself and wondered if Carina would wonder where she was.

"In here," Maya called.

But in walked Keisha.

Maya's position went from bold and confident to reserved. Her arms that were outstretched on the rim of the bath were now in the water as she slid lower to hide herself some more.

"Keisha, what are you doing here?" Maya asked.

"My job," Keisha said, replacing old towels with newer ones. "Don't worry, I'll be gone in a minute, I actually came to speak with the queen," Keisha said.

"Oh, uh, she's in a meeting," Maya said.

"I'll speak with her tomorrow morning then," Keisha said, nodding and smiling at Maya before turning to leave.

Maya only relaxed when she heard the main door shut. She sighed. She'd rather be caught dead than let the queen catch her alone in the same room as Keisha.

The Queen was making her way back to her room. She was mentally and physically exhausted. The day was long and while she afforded herself some pleasure she really wished she could take a break from being queen sometimes. As she walked to her room accompanied by two guards, she wondered if she'd ever have a chance to travel far far away with Maya. She'd give Maya all the time and all the attention she deserved if she could. They'd spend all day cuddled up in each other or they'd go around on each other's arm.

As queen, she could afford none of those luxuries. All dreams went out the window when she approached her door and spotted Keisha leaving her room.

"Keisha?" Carina asked. And then she nodded at the guards so they could leave.

"Your majesty," Keisha said. "I came to see you," she said.

"What about?" Carina asked. "Also, is Maya in my room?"

"Yes, yes, she's in," Keisha said now getting nervous. Carina could see it and she wondered why.

"What is it that you needed to see me for?" Carina said.

"Your majesty, I wish to take a few days away from my duties to the throne," Keisha said.

Carina nodded listening attentively.

"I met someone, and if you grant me this leave, I hope to travel with him for a few days," she said.

Carina felt like fate was teasing her. She literally just thought about how she could possibly never travel with Maya in private, and unofficially.
