Aadvik's Pov-
The moment she walked out of her cabin I stopped her idk why, but I wanted to talk to her and by her dry replies some time ago I was disappointed. I saw the tiredness and some sort of fear in her eyes, so I thought to drop her home. After telling her that I will drop her she immediately refused and this hurt my ego, so I blackmailed her by overtime, and it worked. The way she ran towards the lift I felt something inside my chest and I smiled for a mili second but hid it before she can see.The lift opened in the parking, and she ran in the parking but when she realized she don't know my car and turned towards me raising her eyebrows. To be honest she is so herself I felt a warmth in me by just her small acts. Then I walked her to my car and by seeing her reaction I was sure she was hell shocked. For the first time I felt proud of my bff to force me to buy this car. I am not much of a car person I like my bike more but seeing her reaction I think I should buy more cars.
( Author- Mr. you already have 10 cars minimum just for yourself.
Aadvik- Just shut up author look at her wide open eyes.
Author- ohhoo someone is feeling giddy....
Aadvik- noo just shoo away. huh..
Author- huh....we'll see)
She is still standing shocked so I moved to the driver seat, opened the door and sat inside. She didn't notice me till now. I blew the horn making her come out of her dreamland.
Aadvik- O hello, back to earth miss. Baithogi ya yahi rehna hai raat bhar?
Ishinita- ya..ya.. Sorry sir.
She sits but madam ne seatbelt nahi lagai hai and main koi hero nahi hu jo belt lagta phiru uski.
I pinched her and told her to wear her seatbelt. She wore her seatbelt and I started the car.
Waise toh I like driving in the speed limit but today I wanted to irritate her cause her silence and that lines of worry on her forehead is irritating me. So I accelerated a bit just to get some reaction out of her and I won when she turned her face towards me in shock.
Aadvik - kya hua aise kyu dekh rahi ho?
Ishinita - aap dhere chala sakte hai sir?
Aadvik - kyu? meri gaadi meri marzi
Ishinita - lekin.... kuch nahi sir jaisa aapko theek lage (koi na ishu thodi der jhel le isi bahane ghar time se pohoch jayegi toh maar kam padegi)
AUTHOR'S POV -:
Aadvik saw something in her eyes, some sort of fear and he don't know why but he wanted to kill the person who was reason of the fear. But he pushed back his thoughts.
Aadvik's hand gripped the steering wheel as he felt a strange, uninvited sensation in his chest every time he glanced at Ishinita. Her nervous glances out the window, her fingers fidgeting slightly in her lap—he couldn't help but notice every little detail. But admitting to himself that he cared? Not a chance. As they drove, he kept finding excuses to slow down. A turn taken a little too cautiously, or a red light that he stopped at even though he could have made it. Each time, he saw her glancing anxiously at her watch, trying to hide her impatience, and that only made him smirk more.
Aadvik: "Kuch problem hai, Miss Ishinita? Lagta hai tumhe ghar pohnchne ki badi jaldi hai."
She tried to mask her anxiety, forcing a polite smile. "Nahi sir, koi problem nahi. Bas… thoda late ho gaya hai."He chuckled softly, feigning innocence. "Oh, late ho gaya? Maine toh socha tum overtime ke shaukeen ho."
Her lips pressed into a thin line, clearly holding back a response. He could see the tension building in her shoulders, and for some reason, it gave him a strange satisfaction.
Author: "You really like testing her patience, don't you?"
Aadvik: "Testing? Bas thodi masti kar raha hoon."
Author: "Masti, huh? Ya phir tumhe bas ek bahana chahiye uske saath aur thoda waqt bitaane ka?"
He shook his head, dismissing the thought. "No chance," he thought to himself. "Main kyu aisa kuch chahunga?"
He turned onto a quieter road, and she gave him a slightly worried look, though she said nothing. The silence between them grew heavier, and he could tell she was trying her best to remain calm. The flicker of fear in her eyes, though small, bothered him in a way he wasn’t willing to admit.
Finally, she spoke up, her voice soft but controlled. "Sir, agar aap thoda jaldi chalaye toh main… ghar thoda waqt pe pohnch jaungi."
He raised an eyebrow, his ego pricked again. "Itna bhi kya darr hai tumhe? Tumhe ghar pohnchne ki itni jaldi kyun hai, Ishinita?"
She hesitated, her gaze fixed on her lap. "Bas… ghar pe sab wait kar rahe honge."
The simple answer somehow felt like a lie, but he decided not to press further. "Why do I even care?" he thought, as he eased the car to a stop at another light.
Aadvik's POV:
For some reason, her silence wasn’t satisfying me anymore. I had enjoyed it at first, watching her squirm, hearing her nervous requests to drive faster. But now, with each quiet sigh she tried to stifle, each glance at her watch, it was starting to feel… wrong.
Still, I couldn’t back down, not yet. Not when my ego was on the line.
Aadvik: "Waise, tumhe ghar pohnchne ki jaldi hai, lekin tum keh sakti ho, tumhe kya laga main tumhein raat bhar ghumata rahunga?"
She didn’t answer, just nodded slightly, her expression strained. For the first time, I felt the tiniest crack in my resolve.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of quiet tension, I took a deep breath and decided I’d had enough of the game. Without another word, I picked up the speed, feeling the weight of her tension ease just a little. I told myself I was just tired of dragging this out—but a part of me knew it was more than that.
The rest of the drive was in silence. When we finally pulled up in front of her house, I could see the dim lights in the windows. She unbuckled her seatbelt quickly, almost like she couldn’t wait to escape, and without looking back, muttered a quick "Thank you, sir."
For some reason, watching her practically bolt from the car left a hollow feeling in my chest. I watched her until she disappeared inside, a quiet feeling gnawing at me. But I brushed it off, telling myself it was just a job done.
Author: "Are you sure it’s just a job, Aadvik?"
Aadvik: "Of course. Ab jaane do usse. End of story."
But even as I drove off, her anxious glances and that haunted look in her eyes stayed with me, more than I cared to admit.
