Azar tiredly laid in his bed, staring at the overly decorated ceiling. He and Zephyr had started practicing basic magic with each other, with Aaron's supervision, of course. The younger had been coming by more often much to his delight. Zephyr was a bit of a chatterbox, scratch that, he was, but he was adorable.
Watching his unofficially adopted brother literally make solidified air had given him stars in his eyes. It kinda reminds him of when Akihiro accidentally made mustard gas with 2 crackers and a Clorox wipe. It was impressive, but also concerning.
Though unlike his brother whose power was to cause chaos wherever he went, Zephyr had a specialty in earth & air magic, the ground version of earth magic specifically, there were other versions of earth magic.
Just like any old magic system, there were four main or 'base' categories of magic that could be mixed or modified into different types of magic. Most kids are born with specific aptitude towards the 4 base magics but on rare occasions, people can have specific talent for non-base magic.
That .5% of people was not Azar. But it was Aaron! The same Aaron who was currently absent from the manor once again, leaving the purple-haired male bored out of his mind.
Usually he didn't feel lonely, but hanging out with his new friend had... taken a toll...on his brain.
He sighed, sitting up in his bed, hoping to find something of interest.
Unfortunately for him, the books he had next to his nightstand had already been read, and there was no way he would try to practice magic without Aaron around. He had already heard of the horror stories of magic gone rogue, they weren't pretty.
So, against every part of his body screaming for him to just lay down for once, he found himself going to visit the library for a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers.
But as he walked, he heard footsteps echoing through the hallways. His head shot up excitedly. Finally!
"Aaron!"
Azar grinned brightly, expecting the same beautiful winter blue eyes. Instead he was looking up at unfamiliar lavender eyes that looked down on him with their cold gaze.
Well shit. Azar tried to hide his embarrassment. That's my brother isn't it.
There was an awkward silence that fell between the 2 brothers as they stared at each other. Khalid looked down at Azar with contempt but also curiosity. On the other hand Akihiko looked at Khalid with fascination. Khalid's hair looked really pretty and silky, he'd love to pat the other male's head, if only he was taller...
"Uhm...Hello..?" GOD YOU SOUND SO AWKWARD WHAT THE FUCK AKIHIKO. He internally panicked before digging into his mind to try and find out who the kid was.
"You're Khalid...right..?" The taller looked down at Azar, nodding softly.
"You would be correct, you wouldn't happen to be the other member occupying the manor, would you?"
"That would be me..." Azar smiled, making Khalid hum in acknowledgement. Before things could get any more awkward, Akihiko activated his people person skills.
"Would you be headed anywhere?" The older blinked, as if remembering that he was doing something before running into Azar.
He lifted his head and put a hand on his chin in thought, leaving an awkward silence once again. Before Azar could attempt to salvage the lost cause of a conversation, Khalid finally spoke up.
"I forgot." Damn.
"That's...unfortunate... But if you wouldn't mind, you could accompany me to the library." Khalid hummed in thought once again.
