The purple eyes opened filled with determination. They darted around the dark place stopping on the young red-haired vessel, gripping the girl's heart behind these mirrors. Regaining her composure, the eyes continued their way towards the nine hideous silhouettes, painting the lavender violet with a menacing dark glow. Her teeth bit down on her lower lip, containing her inner turmoil by taking a few deep breaths and plunging her eyes back into the darkness.
The calming tide flowing back into its bed, the determined face rose towards its aim. She stared at the nine shadows, her deep thinking visible on her face. As she remained motionless and her eyes swaying, a voice rang out:
- It seems we're not alone...
- Indeed, I feel a presence too.
A smile played across the Amai's lips as she gradually revealed herself.
- You weren't very careful, Sasori, Deidara...
- If you want to complain to someone, it would be to that freak with the bombs.
- You're such a slanderer, Sasori sensei, hm...
- Instead of arguing, let one of you getting rid of this unwelcomed visitor.
- It's only one rat. It won't take long.
The stockiest one broke away from the circle and climbed down from the statue's hands. Yume remained motionless, lurking behind the rocks, her face serious. Her breathing quickened as adrenaline coursed through her blood, making her limbs tremble in anticipation.
- Show yourself! Shouted the deep voice of the armoured ninja.
The ninja stood on guard, his gaze fixed on the rock as he waited for the enemy to appear. Footsteps echoed in the cave and gradually, a figure emerged from the darkness.
- It's over!
Temari dropped down a wall, letting out a long sigh as she heard the young medical nin's words. A smile blossomed on her lips as she started laughing. The pinkette also had a happy face, despite the fact that she was sweating after all those hours of hard work.
On the bed, in the middle of the room, Kankurô was resting, looking peaceful, much calmer than before. The young woman with the fan watched him sleep with tears in her eyes. She then looked up at the young doctor.
- Thank you... Sakura...thank you so much...
- I only did my job, I assure you.
The pinkette then gave her a hug, which the blonde immediately returned, thanking her brother's saviour again.
- He's fine... he's out of danger, don't worry... unfortunately, I'm not finished yet, I still have to make an antidote to eliminate the poison from his body once for all. Do you trust me?
- Of course I trust you! You've already done a lot...
Farther away, Naruto, at Kakashi's side, had watched the whole scene attentively, becoming more and more astonished by the abilities of his pink-haired friend.
- Wow...Sakura is awesome...
- Yes, she's changed a lot in three years.
- That girl...she reminds me of that slug princess... the old Chiyo, who was sitting beside them, intervened.
- Precisely, she's Lady Tsunade's student.
- Oh, really?
The old woman's eyes widened at the words of the white-haired ninja, who nodded in agreement. The wrinkled eyes focused on the pinkette, watching her every move. She was moving confidently across the room, her face serious and determined, directing the teams with perfection, giving instructions in a firm yet humble tone. Not a single flaw in her movements, not a single hesitant tremolo in her voice... seeing all this, Chiyo couldn't help but admire this great lady trapped in the body of a mere teenager.
