The frightening news delivered by Kakashi paralysed the two young women, leaving them as silent as carp. A bitter taste rose in their mouths, leaving the guilt of not having been able to return earlier to settle in both of their poor minds.
- We shouldn't wait any time getting back on track, Kakashi suggested. We've still got about two days and a half of walk until we reach Sunagakure.
- Temari! Yume's voice sounded, without any hint of warmth. Guide them to the village.
- Huh?! Why are you asking me this?
- Just do what I'm asking, take them to the village.
- Wait a minute... don't you have an idea in mind? What do you intend to do?
Without uttering a single word, the Amai drew two butterflies from her haori. Into the first one, she infused a little chakra and sent it to her friend, who caught the insect. She then turned around, intending to give them the slip, but...
- Wait a minute, Yume! Kakashi exclaimed.
- What is it?
- Where do you think you're going?
- Don't worry about it, Kakashi sensei. I know what I'm doing.
- Knowing you, Yume I doubt it. When it come to Gaara, you tend to act without thinking and put yourself in danger! Temari retorted.
- Once again, I'm telling you that I know what I'm doing.
- Think about it Yume, Kakashi replied. Wouldn't it be better if you came back to the Sand with us and we went as a group?
- In these cases, the best thing is to act as soon as possible! Otherwise, who knows what will happen to him...
- She's right! Naruto exclaimed. Gaara is in danger, and we have to help him quickly!
- I understand... the white-haired man sighed. I don't know what you have in mind, but I won't let you go alone.
- What? Do you want to come with me?
- Not exactly.
In front of the Amai's bewildered gaze, Kakashi performed a few mudras before placing his hand on the ground, making a little dog with a sulky face appear.
- Here is Pakkun. He's one of my tracking dogs. His sense of smell is excellent, and even if he's not suited to combat, it will reassure me if he goes with you.
- Okay, nice to meet you Pakkun.
- It's a pleasure to meet you too Yume, Pakkun replied.
- Very well, I'll be going, thank you Kakashi sensei.
- And please be careful!
- Don't worry about me!
The Amai moved away with the ninja dog at her sides, while Temari looked at her worriedly. She then turned to the three ninjas of the Leaf and motioned for them to follow her, before the group set off, the young girl with the fan leading the way.
As she set off through the forest, Yume glanced behind her from time to time. Then, when the group was no longer in sight, she stopped dead in her tracks, surprising the mutt beside her.
- Why are you stopping? Pakkun inquired. Aren't we supposed to be rescuing your friend?
- I'd have to know where to go for this, don't you think Pakkun?
