3rd POV
A week before the festival, the anticipation in Class 1-A was mounting. Students were busy with their final preparations, practicing their routines, and refining their performances. The atmosphere in the school was a mix of excitement and nervous energy as everyone geared up for the big event.
Arrival of the Parents
The day was set aside for parents to visit and get a glimpse of their children's progress. Aizawa and other faculty members had organized a schedule for the parents to tour the facilities, meet the teachers, and get an overview of the festival's plans.
As the parents arrived, they were greeted with a warm welcome. The parents chatted among themselves, exchanging stories and showing their support for their children. The students, meanwhile, were both eager and anxious to see their families and share their excitement.
Moral Checks and Festival Introduction
Aizawa gathered everyone in the main hall to briefly explain the festival and what the parents could expect.
"This festival is a celebration of your growth and achievements," Aizawa said. "It's a chance for you to showcase your talents and hard work. We encourage you all to put your best foot forward and enjoy the process."
The students nodded, absorbing the information and feeling a renewed sense of purpose.
Bakugo's Mother's Comment
As the event drew to a close, parents were invited to share their thoughts and encouragement with their children. The room was filled with a mix of supportive and anxious energy as the parents took turns speaking.
Bakugo's mother, known for her stern demeanor, was one of the last to speak. Her eyes narrowed as she addressed the crowd. "I'm not expecting much from my son. He's always been a bit of a handful and never really had any grace or charm. Honestly, I doubt he'll win any accolades. He's more like a wild wolf than a graceful, pretty contestant. But he'll give it his best shot, I suppose."
Her words cut through the room like a cold wind, leaving a heavy silence in their wake. Bakugo's friends exchanged uncomfortable glances, their faces reflecting a mix of surprise and dismay. The rest of the class couldn't hide their reaction, some snickering and murmuring among themselves.
Aizawa, taken aback by the lack of support from a parent, remained silent. His usual composure was visibly shaken by the unexpected negativity.
Bakugo's Reaction
The comment from his mother hit Bakugo hard. His usual fiery demeanor dimmed, replaced by a look of hurt and frustration. He clenched his fists, his jaw set in a tight line as he fought to maintain his composure.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of the parents' visit, Bakugo quickly made his way out of the main hall. His friends and Deku followed him, sensing his distress.
In Bakugo's Dorm
Deku caught up with Bakugo as he retreated to his dorm. Bakugo slammed the door behind him, the tension in the room palpable. Deku approached cautiously, noticing the visible strain on his friend's face.
"Hey, Kacchan," Deku said gently, "are you okay?"
Bakugo sat down heavily on his bed, staring at the floor. "I can't believe she said that. It's like no matter what I do, it's never good enough for her."
Deku sat down beside him, placing a comforting hand on Bakugo's shoulder. "You've worked so hard and come so far. Your mother's opinion doesn't define your worth or your achievements. You've already proven yourself to everyone here."
Bakugo looked at Deku, his eyes reflecting a mix of frustration and vulnerability." thanks izuku but i dont know...
Hey, Deku... can I—" He trailed off, his usual bravado melting away.
Deku, sensing the depth of Bakugo's distress, set his book aside and opened his arms in invitation. "Of course, Kacchan. Come here."
Bakugo moved towards Deku and, with a deep breath, allowed himself to embrace the gesture. He wrapped his arms around Deku, leaning into him with a neediness that was rare for him. Deku enveloped him in a warm hug, feeling the tension in Bakugo's body.
Bakugo's Vulnerability
As Bakugo clung to Deku, his strong façade finally crumbled. Soft, unexpected tears began to fall from his eyes. He buried his face in Deku's shoulder, his emotions spilling out in a quiet, broken sob. The tears were a mix of frustration, hurt, and the immense relief of finally being vulnerable.
Deku, in shock at the sight of Bakugo crying, held him tightly. He could feel the depth of Bakugo's pain and saw how much the weight of the day had affected him. His heart ached seeing his friend in such a fragile state.
"Hey," Deku said softly, his voice filled with warmth and reassurance, "it's okay. You don't have to hide anything from me."
Bakugo's grip on Deku tightened as he continued to cry, his breaths coming in shuddering gasps. He looked up, his puffy eyes meeting Deku's with a mixture of gratitude and disbelief.
Confession and Comfort
Deku, moved by the sight and feeling the surge of affection, whispered, "You're amazing, Kacchan. I don't think you realize just how much you mean to everyone. I really like you."
Bakugo's eyes widened in surprise, his tears momentarily pausing as he processed Deku's confession. "You do?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Deku nodded, a tender smile on his lips. "Yeah, I do. And I want you to know that no matter what, I'm here for you."
Without another word, Bakugo leaned in and kissed Deku softly, their lips meeting in a gentle, heartfelt kiss. The kiss was a mixture of relief, affection, and a silent promise of support.
When they pulled away, Bakugo looked at Deku with a mixture of hope and uncertainty. "So... what are we?"
Deku thought for a moment, his gaze never leaving Bakugo's. "We can figure that out later. Right now, let's just be here for each other."
Bakugo nodded, his eyes softening as he took in Deku's words. He snuggled closer, his head resting against Deku's chest.
Sweet Notions
Deku continued to hold Bakugo close, whispering sweet nothings and caressing his hair. The gentle, reassuring touch helped calm Bakugo's frayed nerves. Deku kissed the top of his head and murmured softly, "You're so strong, and I'm so proud of you. We'll get through this together."
Bakugo, feeling the warmth and sincerity of Deku's words, let out a contented sigh. The weight of the day seemed to lift slightly as he found comfort in Deku's embrace. The emotional burden was shared, and for the first time in a long while, Bakugo felt truly seen and cared for.
As they held each other in the quiet of the night, the world outside seemed to fade away. Their bond deepened in that intimate moment, both finding solace and strength in one another.
To Be Continued...
As the festival approached, the relationship between Bakugo and Deku had evolved into something deeper and more meaningful. With newfound clarity and support, they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, together.
