"Squeeze in quick" Lorelai calls forcing Rory and Celia closer together adjusting their caps and gowns. The two girls were smiling even though Rory hadn't said more than a few words to Celia in over a week. Celia had presumed that they were fine after Dean had shown up at their house all sad and begging for them to try again. Unfortunately, she was wrong, the second Rory found out Celia was valedictorian she basically stopped talking to her.
"Lorelai, don't you think it's a little unfair that Celia is valedictorian?" Emily asks as they all find their seats.
"What are you talking about Celia earned that" Lorelai says rolling her eyes. She was well aware of her mothers schemes but was hoping she would keep them away from her children.
"Well it's just that Rory needs it for Yale and all-" Emily starts but is cut off,
"Mom Celia works hard she is a great student and earned it, Rory doesn't need any help with Yale, you two took care of that" Lorelai whisper yells.
"Well, I hope you know we will not be giving you a dime for that girl's schooling" Emily fumes.
"That's fine she doesn't need it," Lorelai says not elaborating further.

"You speech was great kid" Lorelai hugs her as Celia steps of the stage.
"Thank mom, I'm just so happy we're done" Celia smiles,
"I'm starving where Rory?" Lorelai asks,
"She's over there I'll grab her" Celia offers really hoping she can fix the situation between her and Rory.
"Hey Rory were heading to Luke's, and Grandma and Grandpa, if you guys want to come you're welcome" Celia smiles walking away.
"She's coming, and I invited Grandma and Grandpa" Celia tells her heading to the car.
"Wow you guys look great, sorry I couldn't be there" Luke apologises,
"You're all good, I don't think we were meant to take these Mom" Celia gestures to her cap and gown.
"Oh well," Lorelai laughs brushing it off and taking a sip of her coffee,
"No, Rory?" Luke asks,
"Oh no she's coming" Celia smiles.
Just as she says that Rory and her grandparents walk through the door of the diner.
Emily and Richard both rolled their eyes as they took their seats turning their noses up.
"Where's Jess?" Celia asks turning to Luke,
"Upstairs" Luke gestures trying to escape the wither looks of Emily.
"Jess!" Celia calls kicking open the door to the apartment.
"Jesus!" He yelps, and Celia laughs,
"I have something for you" he smiles, pulling out Pen sweater.
"Aww thank you" Celia smiles hugging him
"I wanted you to be able to have some merch for Pen" he grins.
"Celia, what are you wearing?" Emily asks eyeing her Pen sweater,
"It's a sweater" Celia tells her looking down at the big white writing.
"It's so cute, but it could use some rhinestones" Lorelai jokes and she sees Jess's little smirk from behind the counter.
"So you git into Pen did you?" Richard asks barley paying attention.
"Yup," Celia smiles,
"I presumed Mom told you but I guess not" Celia tells them.
"How are you going to pay for that? Pen's an Ivy, very pricey and I can't fathom this place is paying you that much" Richard asks. Celia knows exactly what he's doing but brushes it off.
"Actually she got a full scholarship" Jess pipes up from behind them, and Celia smiles at him.
"Did you know?" Emily asked but before Celia could respond she interrupts with a huff.
"Well Yale is a much more prestigious school Pen so-" Emily starts but Lorelai cuts her off.
"Mom enough, that's enough, leave now you do not get to come in here and treat my kid like shit" Lorelai demands.
Emily and Richard both huff and walk out arms crossed mutter to one another.
"Mom, you didn't need to kick them out" Rory complains,
"Rory enough taking their side, they're you grandparents I know but you need to look beyond that" Lorelai tells her,
"Oh come on it was all fine until she put on that dumb sweater, she didn't need to put it on and start something" Rory argues.
"Enough Rory we're going home now! meet you at home sweetie" Lorelai kisses Celia's forehead as she and Rory leave.
"Soooo, fun night huh?" Jess jokes as Celia bangs her head on the counter.
"How did a nice-ish evening turn into that?" Celia asks rolling her eyes,
"I don't know C, but at least you're finally done with high school Jess smirks.
"Hey you've got like a week left, calm down mister" Celia laughs.
"Yeah I know, I didn't even think I'd make it that far" Jess laughs lightly.
"Hey, no negativity you did it that's all that matters" Celia smiles
