Kairo, King, Ritso, and Kaze walked through the woods at night, the moonlight casting eerie shadows around them.
The forest was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, adding to the tension in the air.
"Uhh, Kai, why is there a cheetah following us?" Ritso asked nervously, glancing back at Kaze.
"Oh yeah, this is Kaze. He's a friend, trust me," Kairo replied.
Kaze snarled playfully, causing Ritso to scream and jump onto his brother King's back. Kairo chuckled. "Easy, Kaze."
The group continued their journey, but Kairo seemed on edge. King noticed and asked, "What're you so tense about?"
Kairo sighed. "Panthers are prone to hunt in these parts of the woods."
"P-Panthers?!" Ritso stammered, his eyes wide with fear.
Kairo nodded as they pressed on. Suddenly, they all heard a twig snap. Everyone stopped abruptly, scanning the darkness for the source of the noise.
Kairo, with his enhanced senses, began to feel the presence of something nearby. He turned just in time to see a black panther lunging at him.
With deadly precision, Kairo hurled his spear, striking the panther in the chest.
The panther winced in pain and collapsed onto its back.
Kairo approached, yanked out his spear, and aimed it at the panther's head.
"Woah, woah, woah, hey, wait!" the panther exclaimed, its accent surprisingly British.
Kairo raised an eyebrow. "You're British?"
The panther looked confused. "What the bloody hell is a British?"
Kairo shook his head. "Never mind. What the hell are you attacking me for?"
"Survival of the fittest, mate. I need to feed my family after we moved away from that god-awful land in Kifaru," the panther explained.
"You came from Kifaru?" Kairo asked, intrigued.
The panther nodded. "So, wait, you and your chaps are going to Kifaru?"
Kairo nodded. "Yeah, we're gonna kill the king."
The panther's eyes widened. "I-I can help you get there, mate! I know Kifaru like the back of me paw! Let me take you in exchange for my life!"
Kairo considered this and then nodded. "Fine."
He stepped back, allowing the panther to rise. "What's wrong?" Kairo asked, noticing the panther's discomfort.
"You just chucked a sharp spear into me abdomen, mate!" the panther replied.
"Oh, right," Kairo said. He placed his palm on the wound, and an otherworldly light glowed from his hand, healing the injury.
"Not a bad trick there, cub. The name's Panthillion P. Pulliamsworth," the panther said.
Kairo smiled. "How about I just call you Panthie?"
"As long as I get to keep me life, I don't care," Panthie replied.
"Wait, what about your kids?" Kairo asked.
"No worries. The wife can protect and feed them while I'm gone. Besides, it's a quick murder, and we're coming right back," Panthie assured him.
Kairo nodded, and the two walked back to the group. Ritso screamed at the sight of the panther.
"Guys, this is Panthie. He's gonna show us where Kifaru is," Kairo explained.
Kaze nodded. "Welcome to the club."
