THIRD PERSONS POV

Seth had dragged you around his backyard every which way to introduce you to guests. There weren't many, but it was still a lot of new people for you. Your social battery was just about drained, but you didn't want to leave before the guests. Seth's outburst that afternoon didn't help your energy either, so you needed to take a break from his constant presence. It wasn't a bad thing, just slightly overwhelming. For the last ten years your only constant point of human contact had been your father, and now you couldn't escape human contact if you tried.

The smoke from the bonfire and the cold air weren't a good mix for your asthma, and that, on top of your current mood, was how you found yourself sitting in your father's car, taking a small breather from all of the new people and the smells that turned your stomach.

Thankfully, you had gotten photos with all of the guests and of you cutting the cake before your expression had stopped being so cheerful, and had also sat through some stories around the bonfire about Quileute legends, which you find quite interesting. Leah was also helpful, steering you away from the guests using many excuses and was even kind enough to help you pick out an outfit for the night as you didn't know what to expect.

You were using the light of your new UV torch you had bought in Port Angeles to finish the last bit of your friendship bracelet, a matching set to the one you had made the day before, when your phone rang. You picked it up without looking at the caller ID.

"(N/N)! Happy birthday!" Jane's cheery voice greeted you through the phone, and you smiled softly.

You heard a bit of shuffling through the line, and Jane scolding someone.

"Happy birthday baby bird," Alec said, and you thanked him and his sister.

Your relationship with them now was a bit tumultuous, at best. They had known you since you were born, but since you had surpassed them in age you didn't know how to treat them. You were never not on good terms, but it still felt strained.

"Did you have a good day?" Alec questioned, and you answered them truthfully, telling them about your adventures with Seth and Leah, as well as meeting everyone else, saying that you would have to give Nessie one of Cujo's puppies.

Unbeknownst to you, the twins shared a nervous look, and started whispering lowly enough that the phone couldn't pick it up. Yes, you knew about the existence of vampires, but you had no idea about shifters.

"Are we still on for next week?" You asked, bringing the twins out of their private conversation.

"Of course! Us, Demetri, Felix, your Dad at the aquarium in Seattle," Jane relayed the plan to you, "We paid for everything already. Can't wait to see you, talk to you soon my darling."

You smiled so big you were sure your face would have split in half if you held it any longer.

"See ya, love ya, bye," You said, and the twins repeated it back to you, then you hung up the phone and grabbed your inhaler and torch, placing both in your jacket pocket, ready to take on the party once more, feeling recharged after your talk with the twins.

You met Seth at the front gate, and he opened it for you.

"You okay?" He asked, noticing your disappearance but not overly worried, he could hear you in your father's car.

"Yeah! I was just having a breather," You informed him, then held up the pair of now completed friendship bracelets.

"One for you and one for me," You informed him, and gave him yours to put on you.
