Hello to everyone who is reading this. Thanks for giving your time to my work.
Adhyalekha
I stood in the middle of the garden as the soldiers started gathering around me in a circle. My heart is still racing due to the run I just had.
The soldiers were whispering something among themselves, some asking about my well-being, but I was too distracted by those brown eyes I had ever encountered a while ago. Something about those eyes screamed danger and passion at the same time.
"Adhyalekha!"Suddenly, a voice of authority broke me out of my trance as I flinched a little at the sudden echo of the voice in the silence of the night.
All the soldiers surrounding me moved aside, and I turned around to see the source of the voice. There he stood, the head of the kingdom, the king to the Throne,my father Rajveer Dev Suryavanshi.
He walked towards him with solid steps as the confidence oozed out of his every move. His face, even though wrinkled by the lines of experience and countless wars, still demanded respect, and he got it.
He stood before with a stern face looking straight in my eyes as he spoke,"What the hell do you think you are doing?"
I frowned a little at his unpleasant tone, not understanding the reason behind it. I mean,I literally saved the entire Palace from an unknown intruder who freaking knew the secret passage ways.
His expressions turned more stern at my confused face. He glanced at my open hair that dangled on my shoulders and the dupatta that lied carelessly on one of my shoulders.
"Have you forgotten all your protocols and ethics?"he asked in a slow but strict tone.
Protocols? Of course, Protocols!!
I quickly adjusted my dupatta over my head, trying to hide the thick waves of my hair as following my ethics, and Protocols was somehow more important than a possible invasion that could have just happened.
"I am sorry, Daata(father). I acted in my instincts. There was an intruder trying to enter the palace through the secret passages."I muttered in a slow voice, not really meaning the apology, but I knew that talking back would only cause me trouble.
He snarled at me and reminded me,"A princess is not supposed to look into such matters. You have certain boundaries that have to be maintained and about the safety of the Palace,we have male soldiers for it."he remarked, passing a silent glance to the female soldiers that were gathered around us.
RaniMahal was the section of the fort where no men were allowed except for the king and that too in unavoidable circumstances or when he wanted to meet his wife. Hence, the soldiers surrounding the Palace were all female soldiers, who were basically just attendees standing with weapons in their hands.
The female soldiers had no actual training sessions as the male soldiers, except for the basic training because the kind thought that it wasn't really necessary and unheard of and since the RaniMahal was located at the heart of the Palace,it was well protected from all sides. Well, at least HE thought it was well protected.
I tried my level best not to roll my eyes at his silent mocking and replied softly,"I shall keep that in mind, Daata."
He gave me one angry glance before leaving the male soldiers to gather around for a safety meeting in the Rajsabha.
I sighed, looking at his disappearing figure with disappointment as I finally let go of the dupatta and uncovered my hair.
I instructed the female soldiers to keep an eye on any dangers. I can't even blame them for their negligence cause they were not trained properly to cope with such situations.
