05|A Narrow Escape

I took a glance at my surroundings. Everyone was busy offering their prayers. This was the right time for my revenge.

I looked at Rajveer standing with his eyes closed and joint hands. I removed my sword without making a noise and held it tightly.

My mind was racing with thousands of thoughts per second. My parents,siblings,my kingdom,their suffering faces, and everything was flashing before my eyes like a dream.

Somewhere, I was skeptical. My hand stopped for a second. We are Rajputs, and killing a man when he is offering his prayers is a sin, and I know it... but he deserves it! He is the reason my family is not with me.

If killing him makes me a sinner,so be it. I am ready to do anything for giving justice to my family.

I looked at him with a determined face. My eyes pierced his soul as I raised my sword in the air.

"Daataaaa!!!!"

Suddenly, a voice resonated in my ears. I looked in the direction of the voice only to find Adhyalekha staring at us with horror stricken face

It took a few seconds for everyone to realize what was happening. The king immediately moved backward, and the soldiers got alert.

Fuck! How am I going to escape from here?

As I was thinking of a solution to escape,all the soldiers started surrounding me. The king was taken back in protection, and people were running helter-skelter.

I held the sword tightly in my fist as the sweat dribbled down my forehead. A few soldiers attacked me, and I managed to defend myself.

I didn't want to hurt them unnecessarily. They are not my enemies,they are just unaware of reality. I tried my best not to hurt them as I ran away from them breaking free.

I looked around to find a way to escape. Suddenly, my eyes felt on Adhyalekha,she was standing on the same spot still in shock. Why was she moving into protection?

I thought for a second and moved towards her while continuously trying to defend myself. As I was running towards her, a soldier attacked me, and my sword fell from my hand.

I ignored it and somehow managed to go near her. I grabbed her by her shoulder and put her in front of me.

Where's her dagger? I thought while observing her only to find it tucked near her waist.
I immediately grabbed it and held it near her neck.

"Stop! If any of you moves forward,you will lose her!"I screamed at the soldiers.

The soldiers stopped in their tracks and looked at each other. They looked confused about what to do next.

I panted a bit,my heart was beating fast from the fighting and running. Adhyalekha was still frozen on her spot. It was like she was not a part of whatever was happening here. She looked lost.

I tightened my hold on her and whispered in her ears.

"Look,I am sorry for grabbing you like this, but i have no other option. My entire plan was going good until you screamed, so now you have to help me escape."

I dragged her with me, not waiting for her reply. The soldiers were following us, and the other princesses were crying her name. The people were running towards exit in fear,while I was slowly moving backward with the dagger still near her throat.

I slowly managed to bring her near the entrance of the Palace.

"Dekho,Rajkumarisa ko chhod do. Unhe kuch hua toh zinda nahi bachoge! Aatma samarpan kar do!!"
