The Ray family consisted of 3 main members; The head of the house Dr. Darron Ray and his two children. They had always been in the line-of-sight of the public eye; Darron was seen as a very straight-to-the-point and strict man but also highly ethical due to all of his medical success. The first of his children was called Evan, who would struggle with anger issues and violent outbursts his entire life before putting them to good use, making a comeback as the public begins to see him as a motivational leader. The second child of the family was a mute and socially handicapped daughter with some kind of undisclosed learning disability. She was rarely seen by the public due to her condition but when she was, she would often be spotted eating bugs and leaves whilst left outside unsupervised.
The Ray family's success is all due to the father of the house, a world-famous chemist and doctor. His success in both of these fields quickly lead to Darron opening and running his own pharmaceutical brand, creating various chemicals that can be paired with (or replace entirely) everyday medicines to increase their potency, shelf life, and overall effectiveness. Some of the chemicals this man has created have changed how medicine works in this world for the better in ways that would resemble a miracle, and because of this he is affiliated with just about every medicinal drug there is. No self-respecting pharmaceutical brand out there would release a drug that didn't contain his helpful aiding 'add on' chemicals.
It wasn't just 'add on' chemicals that the "Ray Pharmaceuticals" specialized in though, they also had their own brand of many drugs, from nutritional replacements, vitamins and pain relief to insulin, chemotherapy, and dialysis. The Ray pharmaceutical company was seen as a wholesome saving grace of a company, being the #1 most preferred brand both for their efficiency and their affordability. People were living because of them. People were being cured because of them. Illnesses were being managed because of them. Diseases were being eradicated because of them. Their popularity took off fast and they soon became a world-wide, global operation and while their success meant that they managed to sneak their way into everything pharmaceutical, they were careful to never become front and center notorious.
There had been rumors though, of drugs in-the-making at the Ray Pharmaceuticals company, drugs that defy laws of logic and biology, even drugs that can defy death itself. It's rumored that all of which are unable to be released and licensed due to the "unethical" nature of their discovery. But what is unethical about their discovery, I hear you ask? Well, it's said that Dr. Darron Ray of Ray Pharmaceuticals is an undiagnosed psychopath and mad scientist! That uses non-consenting human subjects to perfect their drugs! Except there's absolutely no proof of this at all, and charismatic Darron Ray was a beloved public figure, so while the rumor was heard by many far and wide, only a fool would believe such a ridiculous claim. Right?
The public eye rarely ever sees the full picture though, does it? So, lets go over it again and shed some light onto their true colors.
Firstly, we will start with the head of the household, Darron Ray. He had always been a rather cold but hyper intelligent and charismatic man, an undiagnosed psychopath using his charm and intelligence to fit in with his peers peacefully without forming any kind of strong bond towards them. The success he found in his line of work in the medical field meant he was always wearing some variation of the same sharp looking tailored black suit. His hair was such a dark shade of brown anyone would describe it as black, which really stood out against the backdrop of his wintery pale skin tone. The most striking and sharp part of him, other than his jawline, were his piercing emerald green eyes, a trait that would become iconic in the Ray family when Darron found the love of his life in a woman named Catherine, whom also had pure emerald eyes. While Darron's psychopathy did prevent him from feeling "love" he did feel his own variation of it, though one could describe it more as "obsession".
