Since this morning, Kaylee had been distant from the others, keeping to herself and not letting herself converse as much. Inosuke, quickly noticing this, made a point to try and find her. Kaylee was out on the roof, looking up at the moon in silence. A couple strands of her dark brown hair moving in the wind. Inosuke looked up and saw her on the roof, he didn't say a word as he jumped up and sat right beside her.

"Hm...?" Kaylee looked up and noticed him.

"Oh, hey Inosuke." Kaylee greeted him.

"Why' you up here?" He looked down at the ground then back at her, tilting his head curiously.

Kaylee was silent for a second.

"Just...Thinking of a few things. It's nothing serious." She told him.

"Hm.. okay." Inosuke said as looked back up at the sky with her.

"You...like the moon?" He asked as he looked at her.

Kaylee nodded.

"Yeah...it calms my nerves when things get too much to process sometimes." She replied.

"...Can I ask you something?" Inosuke asked in a serious tone which he rarely used.

"What is it?" Kaylee replied curiously.

Inosuke thought about how to word his question.

"Why are you always so nice to people?" He asked with genuine curiosity.

Kaylee thought for a second.

"...I know how it feels to be harassed and made fun of for things I can and can't control at the same time. It hurts sometimes...and the thought of hurting someone like that myself hurts me to even think about." She explained to the feral boy.

Inosuke was listening while looking down at his hands, he thought for a bit then looked at her

"But you're always so strong, how do you do that..?" He asked, seeming to be genuinely curious.

He would never admit to it, but like with the others, Inosuke had really looked up to her in some aspects. For example, how she remains kind even when others don't deserve it.

Kaylee shook her head.

"There are plenty of moments I can name where I haven't been strong. Sometimes I guess when things get hard I just move in silence and make it seem like everything's okay because I feel like it's not worth it for people to know. I feel like they either won't care, tell me to grow up and things like that. And that they have their own problems so...why bother them with mine, y'know?" She explained.

Inosuke thought for a bit before looking back at the moon then at her, he scooted closer

"You.. sound like you've been through alot..." He sighed.

Kaylee smiled a bit.

"Heh, that would be an understatement..." She replied, letting him move closer.

"Why don't you talk about it?" Inosuke curiously asked.

He moved until he was right next to her, the gap between them was nearly gone.

"A-Ah well... it's all in the past, I've got it all under control now. Mostly..." She sighed.

Inosuke was now very, very close to her. Their shoulders were now touching and Inosuke wanted to hear more of her experiences. Kaylee smiled a bit.

"Heh...You really are very smart, y'know that? I swear...nothing can ever slip by you" She looked back at the moon.
