A U T H O R' S P O V

Jungkook didn't come back to Seoul just for business. Business was the perfect cover, a reason that would satisfy prying eyes and curious minds, but it was far from the truth.

The real reason ran deeper-darker-and he had no intention of letting anyone know until the time was right.

His return to the city was calculated, every move part of a larger game that only he knew the rules to.

Business was always easy for him, a tool he used to maintain his powerful image, but what brought him back to Seoul was far more personal.

There were loose ends that needed tying, shadows from the past that refused to stay buried. Something-someone-was out there, and Jungkook had returned to finish what he started.

Sitting in his dark room, the weight of his purpose pressed against him. His eyes flicked to the skyline of Seoul, the city glittering with lights, but none of it mattered.

The business meetings, the deals-they were mere distractions from what truly occupied his mind.

His real reason for being here was more dangerous, more secretive. And only he knew the truth.

He swirled the glass in his hand again, the ice rattling softly. His smirk widened, the thrill of the hunt invigorating him.

"Business is just an excuse," he murmured to himself, his eyes darkening with intensity.

"But this... this is personal."

The next morning-

Jungkook stepped out of his black car, the quiet sound of his polished shoes hitting the ground as he made his way through a narrow alley.

The place he was going to wasn't on any map, tucked away from the prying eyes of Seoul's bustling city life. It was an unremarkable building, its exterior worn and unassuming.

But the air around it held a sense of foreboding, a sense that not everything was as it seemed.

He entered without hesitation, his presence commanding even the dust-filled room. Inside, a woman sat behind a desk, absorbed in paperwork.

At the sight of him, she froze, her pen dropping from her hand as she looked up, startled.

"Mr. Jeon?" Her voice wavered slightly, betraying the calm exterior she was trying to maintain.

Jungkook moved without waiting for an invitation, sitting down in front of her as if he owned the space, his gaze never leaving hers.

"Surprised?" His voice was calm, almost amused, but there was an unmistakable edge to it, something dark lurking beneath the surface.

The woman swallowed, her eyes darting nervously around the room. "Why are you here again?" she asked, her voice softer now, filled with unease.

"You know why." Jungkook's reply was immediate, his tone sharp as he leaned back in the chair, crossing his legs as if he had all the time in the world.

His fingers drummed against the armrest, a silent reminder of his impatience. "I hope you won't disappoint me again."

Her breath hitched, and she looked down, avoiding his eyes.

"I-I'm trying, but these things take time," she said, clearly struggling to keep her composure.

Jungkook's smirk widened, though his eyes remained cold.
