Amanda, Beth and Kenneth got into the car and Amanda was driving, and she backed out into the street and then headed through the city. Beth was sitting next to Amanda and Kenneth was in the back with the sniper rifle. Amanda turned onto the street that led to the main highway out of Calridge and headed down the busy street.
Matthew was running towards the house and as he got to the house he opened the front door and smoke came out he stepped in and right inside he had a fire extinguisher and he grabbed it. He saw that smoke was also pouring out from the bottom of the door that led to the basement and he ran there and opened it and was hit with smoke. He shot the fire extinguisher and headed downstairs as he got to the bottom his eyes watering from the smoke and having a hard time breathing he saw the fire. He shot the fire extinguisher several times in the air then he moved towards the fire and he shot the fire with it several times. Within a couple of minutes, he managed to put the fire out, there was lots of damage to the basement as the wall and floor were burned up. Matthew then heard a cough and looking around through the leftover smoke he saw a person lying there on the ground. He moved closer and saw it was Lacey, lying there with her hands behind her back. He went to Lacey and knelt and lifted Lacey's head and sat her up.
"Lacey, what's going on? What are you doing here and why are you tied up?" said Matthew.
Lacey replied, "Please untie me and I will explain. It's Amanda and her group."
Matthew using his pocket knife cut the strip ties that had Lacey tied up and when her hands were free she got up and looked in a direction pretending to look for something. She then said three words, "There it is." She headed across the basement and there on the floor was her cell phone she picked it up swiped the screen and pretended to read the message.
Matthew asked, "Lacey, tell me what's going on and why were you tied up?
Lacey replied, "Amanda sent some of her group out here to get you to take you hostage. She made me come too. Sarah Daisy and I were here at the house and when I suggested that they leave you alone Sarah told Amanda and all I remember is that I got hit in the back of the head and when I woke up I was down here tied up. Then Sarah told me before she headed out that Amanda and Beth had decided that you must die. I have been lying here for who knows how long and I got several texts. I started the fire and you know I carry a lighter cause I smoke a joint every two days and I managed to get it out of my pocket. I figured I could burn through these strip ties but the area carpet I was on caught fire. I could roll across the room but the fire spread and I dropped the lighter."
Matthew replied, "I saw the smoke from outside and how did this window break?"
Lacey replied, "It was Sarah. Don't ask me why she did it she just did."
Matthew replied, "We better get back outside. Tamara might think that I passed out from the smoke."
Just then the house shook from the voice of Tamara Sherring, "Matthew are you alright?"
Matthew headed across the basement and as he got to the steps he shouted, "LACEY ARE YOU COMING?" Matthew ran up the steps and Lacey ran up after him and he ran outside and waved to Tamara. Tamara lowered her right hand palm up and Matthew heard Lacey behind him call him back inside. Matthew gave a wave to Tamara and he ran back inside. Lacey stood there in the kitchen, she did not want to go outside.
Lacey spoke, "I got this text message from Daisy. Daisy had no idea that Sarah tied me up, she figured that I hid from Tamara. So she sent me this text message, here you should read it."
She handed the phone to Matthew and Matthew read the text message it read, 'Beth got a Nemesis ANSR sniper rifle and she and Amanda and Kenneth are heading out to Matthew's place to shoot Matthew and to shoot out Tamara's eyes. So please get out of there cause Matthew will be dead and Tamara's eyes will be shot out. It will be a glorious day as Amanda a real goddess and her best friend Beth a goddess deal with this problem. Sit tight Lacey all will be alright.'
