- Human! I'm bored.

Cale snapped out of his zoning out. He was enjoying the sunlight that streamed through the windows of his home back at the duchy. On his lap was the kids, the kittens peacefully dozing off under the gentle pats that Cale gave subconsciously. He sighed.

"Use your imagination. And speak out loud. We're not on a mission." Raon blew air from his lips, making an engine-like sound. He whined from the headboard of his chair.

"But. Human, why can't we go travel now?" Hong woke up as Cale's head pats stopped. He sleepily blinked before making a noise between a meow and a yawn. He smacked his lips together a few times before standing up. He span in a circle, chasing his tail, before making biscuits on Cale's lap. Then he promptly fell back down and fell asleep again.

"Because, Raon."

"Because what?" The child-like curiousity was not restrained but enhanced with his boredom. At least the older kids had mellowed out since his slacker life.

"Reasons." Cale stifled a yawn. He rolled his neck and adjusted his position.

"That's boring."

"Well, that's life sometimes Raon."

"Hm." Raon's face contorted into a pout. Cale patted his armrest, indicating for Raon to rest near him. Raon obliged, resting his head on Cale's armrest. Cale's hand scratched underneath his scaly rounded jaw causing Raon's tail to wag. A small smile appeared on Cale's face. For a few minutes, there was a return of peace and quiet.

"Human? Why's the sky blue?"

"Really, Raon?" Cale sighed. There was no harm in answering, right?

"Because sunlight reaches our world's atmosphere and is refracted in every direction by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves."

He should keep the answers simple.

"What's refracted?"

"When light goes through a medium and comes out broken."

"What's atmosphere?"

"Its the layer of gases that protect out world from the sun's strong light."

"Why?"

"Because the sun is a deadly laser."

"What's a particle?"

"A particle is a broad umbrella term for atoms and elements and pieces of things."

"What's an atom-"

"Are you just going to be asking questions?" Cale turned to look at the little dragon who'seyes shone with a want for learning. If he was a teacher, he'd find it admirable, but alas, he was just an exhausted guardian. His mind raced to find something that would keep Raon occupied as he took a nap.

"You said to use my imagination."

"Alright," Cale ignored Raon's smart-ass remark. "Let's go do something." He stood up, catching his children as they fell. Raon's tail wagged fast at the idea of actually doing something. It had been days since they left the house. He flew up, ready to tag along on an adventure.

"No, you're not coming with me." Cale knew that Raon was planning to go along even with his back to him. He could perfectly imagine the look of shock and betrayal even without facing him. He was starting to understand Ron's obsession with giving him strong, sour lemonade. ...He blinked. What a terrifying thought.

He shook out his useless thought and took out his cintami. He moved rapidly to avoid any unwanted stowaways on his impromptu adventure. As quickly as he came up with the idea, he disappeared just as swift. He had only waved and mouthed a quick 'I'll be right back' when the portal's light swallowed him completely.
