MAYA SCOTT, walked in to see her brother in the weighing room. He looks up at her and shakes his head "what is that?" Nathan disapprovaling if his younger sisters fashion choice..
"Its my outfit..", Maya says spinning around
"Maya. You're 10. Not 13.. "
"I don't see how a dress and tights, with my Flowery Doc Martens are a problem" she sassed at her older brother
"You wouldn't, you've been corrupt by Brooke Davis that is.. You're at least putting a sweater over that dress. Yes?"
"Duh.." Maya sat down looking at her brother who shakes his head.. She's only 10 and she's already giving him attitude and sass.
She smiles at him watching him put the weights on, laying down.
Maya, patiently for her older brother to finish so they can go for pancakes like he promised. Reading her book, in her own world doesn't notice her father walking in..
"What are you slinging?" Dan asks Nathan "About 160" Nathan replies
"Give me that" Dan the weights down and adds more "you're mom called" dan said to Nathan, which had Maya look up from her book at the sound of the word 'mom' "she won't be back until next week" Nathan glances at his younger sister and sees her ssd expression, "hey what do you know about whitey–" Nathan cuts off his father
"Inviting your son to play?"
"Don't call him that" "His got our last name, dad"
"Wel, I know we haven't spoken much in the past but the fact he shares your last name is wishful thinking on his mother's part. We were young, the summer after high school. We made a mistake.
Maya rolled her eyes, she looked back down at her book.
"You made a mistake, alright. I mean, this guy's a zombie" Nathan says, siting up, but dan pushes him back down adding more weights to the bar
"Olay" Dan says "Look, it's kind of screwed up, alright. People talk about it" Nathan says. He tries to lift the weights, dan taking his place "I want you to go this kid.. encourage him to not play"
"He has a right to play, he–" dan cuts him off, Nathan gives her a warning look to shut the hell up.
"Stay out of this Maya" he says, angrily he turns back to her older brother "encourage him not to play?"
"I'm not afraid of him, dad" Nathan yells him
"Well, you should be. We've worked too hard on anything coming in now disrupting the offence, taking away shots.. And, anyways this has more to with Whitey and me then you." Dan tells his son.
