CHAPTER 11: THE YEAR (PART 2)

Celeste's P.O.V✨🌟
It's been six months since Morpheus cursed father and Lilith. Lilith came out of her room seven days later. She's been talking to mother and my sisters but she's been ignoring me entirely. I feel it's because she thinks it's my fault Morpheus cursed her.

I was a little upset at first but Stella said she's going through a little phase and things would get better. But things only got worse.

Lilith kept on pushing me further away from everyone else. She keeps on saying it's my fault that father's businesses are failing because there's no one to manage then.

At least Julius, his father, my mother and sisters don't think so, but they always take Lilith's side in the arguments that she starts.

And it seems like she's trying to drive Julius and I apart. Lilith's always trying to get his attention by making herself look weak and vulnerable even though she's older than him by five years. Julius knows and he tries not to give her too much attention.

Mother seemed lonely at first but Julius' father has been keeping her company. He also suggested that we move into their house as well and we agreed.

Their house was a little messy. It's probably because it was just Julius and his father living together since Julius' mother's death. But, with some dusting and cleaning we were able to clean the house up and we've been living together for the past five weeks.

Even though things have been improving for a while I still feel like I'm being watched at night. Like there's someone else in my bedroom. When ever I muster up the courage to look in the direction of Where I feel the dark presence is watching, there's nothing there.

I've been getting more and more of those strange looking roses. I'm afraid that if I tell someone they'll just end up getting hurt. I don't know what to do I feel so alone.

" Celeste, can Julius and I come in?" Stella asked.

" Yes." I said as I sat on my bed.

" Are you alright. I haven't seen you around." Julius asked as Stella sat next to me on the bed.

" Let's just say I haven't been feeling like myself lately."

" What do you mean? If something's wrong you know you can always tell us." Stella's right. She and Julius have always been there for me. But there are some things that I can't even tell them.

" Why don't we go outside for a while, maybe take a walk through the garden." Stella suggested. But I didn't respond.

" It sounds like a good idea to me." Julius said in an attempt to try and convince me.

" .... Okay." I said with little enthusiasm. I haven't been outside in days and the thought of it doesn't sit right with me.

As we headed outside, Helen suddenly screamed.

" Wasn't that Helen?" Julius asked.

" Yes. You go on ahead, I'll check on Helen and make sure she's alright." Stella said as she rushed back in.

" Okay, after you." Julius said to me. After we walked for a while we sat down on a patch of grass.

" you were right, this is a good idea." I said when we finally sat down.

" See? I told you and I'm always right." Julius boasted while smiling from ear to ear. Then he looked at something behind me that made his smile disappear.

" Wh-" I tried to ask but Julius just put his hand on my mouth and a finger on his lips. What's going on? What has he seen. Then Julius made some gestures that translated to I can't see anything   what does he mean. Is he doing this for fun.

" Celeste? Julius?" Lilith asked behind me. So that's what he was trying to tell me. Lilith is blind so she automatically can't see us and if she can't hear us, we're practically not there.

Then he made more gestures telling me that we should quietly sneak away. But Julius' foot step were too loud and she heard us.

" Julius, is that you?" She asked as her face lite up.

" Yes." Julius sighed.

" Is Celeste with you?" She asked.

" No, she's...with Helen....in the kitchen." Julius lied. Why? Does he actually want to spend time with her? No, being jealous won't do anything for me. So I used signs to ask what he's doing. But he just told me to wait. Wait for what.

" There's something I need to tell you. It's about Celeste, please don't tell her I told you this, okay?" Julius and I exchanged glances before he answered.

" Okay, what is it about?"

" Before you came back from Egypt a few months ago, Celeste started acting strange."

" What do you mean she started acting strange?" Julius asked narrowing his eyes at Lilith.

" She's become so selfish." Lilith said.

" Lilith, I don't care what you think of Celeste because she's neither selfish not greedy. In short she's nothing like you." Julius hissed.

" What do you mean by that! The little thing sold her soul to the gods just to ruin my happiness." Lilith shot back, it sounds like she's getting upset.

" We both know that's not what happened. Morpheus cursed you because you were the one who became selfish. So, don't talk about other people when the evidence of who was in the wrong is clear. Maybe you're talking like this because you're the only one who can't see it." He said before grabbing my hand and walking away.
