Doctor Who

Part 1

John Smith was walking down the street when he collided with someone. John and the other person both fell to the ground. John heard a female voice say: "Dad! Are you okay? Are you hurt?" A young woman with blonde hair ran over and knelt down beside John and helped him sit up and said: "Hey, take it easy there." John chuckled and said: "Jenny, what would I do without you?" Jenny quirked an eyebrow and said: "Dad, let's face it. You'd be lost without me." She was still supporting him so he didn't fall back again. Then she noticed the other person and said confusedly: "Sorry, but who are you?" The other person said: "I'm The Doctor." John said: "I'm John Smith. And this is my Daughter Jenny. She started traveling with me recently." Jenny said: "I'm also an ex-soldier." John said: "She still carries a gun." Jenny said: "Yes, but I also try not to use it unless absolutely necessary. For your sake." John said: "And I appreciate it." Jenny said: "So, Doctor. What brings you here to this planet?" The Doctor said: "I'm here investigating something with my friend Clara." Jenny said: "Huh. So are we. I suggest that we all work together to solve this issue." The Doctor said: "I don't know. The fact that two Doctors are in the same place could cause a paradox." Jenny said bluntly: "if that was the case, it would have happened already. Look, if you're going to have any hope of solving this issue, you need our help." John said: "my daughter is always thinking at least three steps ahead of me. It was kinda annoying at first. Now it's kinda amusing. It shows just how much she takes after me. She's also brilliant and stubborn. Just like her Dad. She's the tactical brains out of the two of us. She's gotten me out of more than a few scrapes." Just then a young woman with brown hair came running over. Jenny saw some sort of creature chasing her. She stood and ran over and tackled the young woman to the ground and said: "Stay close to me!" The young woman said: "Who-Who are you?" Jenny said: "My name is Jenny Smith. And you are?" The young woman said: "Clara Oswald." Jenny said: "Nice to meet you, Clara. You can call me Jenny." They waited until the creature passed and then stood. Clara smiled and said: "Thanks Jenny. You saved my life back there." Jenny said: "what'd you do to warrant that creature chasing you?" Clara said: "I don't know." Then the two women ran back to where the two men were. Jenny said: "Dad, Doctor, Clara was just chased by a creature. I ran over and tackled her out of the way. It's not safe to be out in the open like this. We need to get back to the TARDIS pronto." The two men stood. John said firmly: "Come on! Follow us! Our TARDIS is closer!" Then the group ran to John and Jenny's TARDIS. Clara and Jenny ran next to each other. The Doctor said: "I think Clara practically velcroed herself to Jenny's side!" John said: "My daughter probably told Clara to stay close to her! It's that soldier instinct in her! I've seen it before!" They reached the TARDIS and John tried to use his sonic screwdriver to open the door. Jenny rolled her eyes and shoved him out of the way and grabbed her key and put it in the lock and unlocked the door and opened the doors and said: "Everybody get the hell inside now! And Dad, don't bother scolding me!" The Doctor and Clara ran in. Jenny shoved John into the TARDIS and ran in and closed the doors behind her. She locked the doors and said: "We need to get to the bottom of this. I have a pretty good idea where to start. Clara, you're with me!" She ran up the ramp with Clara right behind her. Clara said: "Where are we going?" Jenny said: "The library! Knowledge is a damn good weapon! Although, don't tell my dad that I said damn." Clara said: "Your secret is safe with me! I won't even tell The Doctor! And I tell him pretty much everything! Do you even know where you're going?!" Jenny said: "Of course I do! I live here! I occasionally cheat and just ask the Old Girl for help. It's been about two years since I started traveling with my dad. I've been with him since the day I was born and died. It's complicated." Clara said: "you said you were an ex-soldier." Jenny stopped and said: "it's not something I like to talk about. I still have bad dreams because of it. It's so bad that Dad ended up just moving into my room with me. I think he was tired of getting woken up by my screaming." Then they continued walking. They reached the library and walked in and closed the doors behind them. Jenny headed straight over to one section in particular and climbed up a ladder to the top shelf and grabbed a thick book on various creatures. Then she climbed down the ladder and said: "Here we go. Let's take this back to the console room and meet up with Dad and The Doctor." She moved to leave when she realized that Clara wasn't following. Jenny turned around and saw Clara sitting on the floor crying. Jenny set the book on a nearby coffee table and walked over and knelt down in front of Clara and said gently: "Clara, what's wrong?" Clara said: "Ever since I jumped into his time stream to save his life, he just seems to see right through me. It's like I'm not even there. Or I'm invisible to him. And I don't know what to do. Am I even real? Or am I just an echo of the real Clara Oswald?" Jenny pulled the younger girl into her arms and held her close to her and gently rubbed her back and said gently but firmly: "Clara Oswald, I want you to listen to me right now. You are real. You're not just an echo. I would know. You're the real Clara Oswald." Clara clung to Jenny as she cried. The older girl sat there comforting her. Finally Jenny got an idea and said: "Clara, would you like to see one of my favorite rooms on the TARDIS? It's also Dad's favorite room too." Clara said: "Sure." Jenny stood with Clara and grabbed a blanket and the book and said: "Come on. Once we get there, I'm going to call my dad and have him and The Doctor meet us there. I'm going to have a talk with The Doctor about the way he's acting towards you." Jenny guided Clara out of the library and they walked to a different part of the TARDIS and stopped outside of a door. Jenny opened the door and said: "Come on." The two women walked in and closed the door behind them. Clara said: "It's beautiful." Jenny said: "It's called the Gallifrey room. The actual planet is gone. Has been for a long time now. But in here, it's an escape from the chaos outside. It's also a good place for a group meeting if you don't want anybody listening in. It's a peaceful place." She felt for the younger girl. Jenny hesitated as she guided Clara over to a stream. She knelt down and spread the blanket on the ground and set the book down and motioned for her to join her. Clara sat down on the blanket. Jenny sighed and said: "I know how you feel." Clara said: "what do you mean?" Jenny said: "Clara, I was born from a progeneration machine using my Dad's DNA. I was born a soldier. I was born into a war. I fought in the war. With a big gun. Dad didn't really like that. He hated me at first. Heck, he flat out ignored me. He called me GI Jane and Soldier girl. But his attitude turned around after I made the choice to spare General Cobb's life instead of shooting him. A choice that I later regretted had I known what he was going to do later. The soldiers and the Hath were fighting over a glass ball of gases that was designed to bring life. Not take it. Dad referred to it as third generation terraforming. Dad ended the war on Messaline much to the displeasure of General Cobb. Dad and I were talking and then suddenly I saw General Cobb raise his gun and aim for Dad. I instinctively stepped in front of him. General Cobb pulled the trigger and shot me in the chest. The bullet only hit one of my hearts. Dad caught me as I collapsed. We talked. I died. But the terraforming brought me back to life. After that I started traveling with Dad." Clara said: "Jenny, I'm so sorry. I see now why you don't like to talk about it." Jenny stood and walked away and sighed.
