Listen to the song above.
I played it while starting this chapter and it was one of the songs Chichi listened to.
Enjoy!

Can you hear that? It's the sound of peace and quiet. I'm really going to having a me weekend, starting from right now.

Alone time.

I just got back from dropping Charlie off at Khalil's, one of his friend and team mate's, house. It's his birthday today, so they're having a little get together and he asked Charlie and one of his other close friend to come earlier to help him put things in order.

I quickly connected my phone to the Bluetooth and started blasting early 2000s RnB before other songs. Gosh, I love them. I may seem like the odd one out but those are really good music.

I made myself breakfast and ate it like it was my last meal on earth.

Today being a 'me' day, I have to not waste it. I could do things like, journal, sketch or doodle, watch maybe, Clueless, Legally Blonde, Love and Basketball, Honey? I don't even know. I could actually start writing a new book. One I'd never publish though.

I just want today to be relaxing and productive.

I went to grab my laptop from my room and sped down back downstairs.

I placed my laptop on the coffee table then sat on the floor facing it. I actually have a book planned out though. Regular highschool romcom where the hot guy falls for the girl he never noticed.

That's actually a wattpad book, The Girl He Never Noticed. Never read it though, only watched the series on YouTube.

I would've wanted my book to be Italian based but nahh, I'll go with American based.

The male main character, who I'll be naming Emilio, is going to be Italian, with an American mom. Sophie, the female main character will be a pretty redheaded American.

Also, Emilio is a senior, she's a junior. So I'll be giving it a little kissing booth vibe when Emilio wants to graduate. I'm so rooting for this book of mine.

I checked and saw that I've actually written down two chapters which was last year. I actually did come up with the book idea in junior year.  Reading through them, I made corrections and continued the next chapter.

Damn, I actually fell asleep.

I stretched a little on the couch. I reached for my phone and looked at the time, past 4 already.

I wonder how I decided to rest my fingers and eyes for fifteen minutes and boom, I woke up more than two hours later. My eyes hurt less now, thankfully.

I think I'll bring up the glasses issue to my parents because not using them for three months is no joke.

I heard the house phone ringing so I got up to pick it. It was my dad.

"Hey dad. Good afternoon, sir." I greeted. He easily noticed my sleepy tone, "Good afternoon, angel. Did I wake you? You sound sleepy." He said. "Not really, I woke up few minutes ago." I replied. "Okay. How's Charlie?" He asked. "He's fine, I guess. He's still at his friend's place." I replied.

"That's right, the birthday. Well, I called to check up on you kids." He said.

"Thanks for doing that."

"Welcome, angel. Do you want anything?"

"Like? Uhm, I don't know. My head's not clear yet."

"Did you eat lunch?"

"No dad, I fell asleep around that time."

"Okay, get something to eat, alright? You know skipping meals is a no no in my house."

"Yes dad, I know. I'll do just that."

"Still got some money?"

Oh my gosh, I love this question. Well I kinda...

"A little"

"I'll send you some more. Go get ice-cream or whatever."

My favourite man, my dadda.

"Thank you much, daddy." I said excitedly.

"Anytime, angel. I'll see you when I get back."

"Okay, later then." I said still smiling ear to ear.

.

I dragged myself to the sink and splashed water on my face. What to eat now is the problem. I'm always clueless as fuck.

You know what, solo date.

I'll take myself on a date this evening. Chicken nuggets, fries and ice cream, after that, I'll hit the cinema and watch whatever movie I find available.

Making my mind up, I ran upstairs to my room to get changed from this short shorts and tee shirt to something I can wear outside.

I wore my black cargo shorts, my dad's navy blue sweatshirt, a pair of white Nike socks and black Nike slides.

Comfort is important, people.

It's not like my soulmate is going to be walking in these streets right now, besides, it's evening.

I took the bonnet off my head and replaced it with a black bandana over my almost old boho braids.

I took a look at the mirror, "ha! Nobody's gon' tell me shit, I know I look good." I said  then burst out laughing.

Girl, I crack myself up.

Walking to my car, I sensed something was missing but I shrugged it off and just entered the car. About driving out when I realized what it was, "oh my God. Lipgloss, that's what's missing."

I looked over to my back seat and picked the small bag where I keep emergency make up things, sanitary stuffs too just in case. I collected the lipgloss and applied a good amount. Never enough lipgloss though.

I quickly took a selfie which I sent to Aaron and captioned, 'got a date!' with a kissy face emoji. Without waiting for him to see it and reply, I kept my phone aside and drove out.

"....oh my days, you're crazy." I said to Aaron on the phone as I came out of the cinema and head to the parking lot. "I mean, I am not interested in her like that. It's not like I didn't tell her earlier, yet she asked for a date." He said. "And standing her up was the better option?" I asked him as I brought out my keys from my pocket. "I am not interested, she's aware." He replied.

"That's not the answer, Aaron." I said. "No, it wasn't. But Vivienne, you know it won't be nice going on a date with another girl when I kind of have a girl. Or tryna say you'd pick no offense if I go around showing other girls interest?" He asked. "No, no. I understand your point. Thank you for being loyal. But you could have gone for the date and made your point clear that it was just you guys hanging out as friends, you get me?" I asked as I started my car.

"You're right, I shouldn't have stood her up. I apologized though, she's annoyed but she'll get over it. Besides, we have projects together, she can't ignore me." He said. "Heading home now, yeah?" He asked. "Yes, about to drive out."  I replied.

"Who'd be picking up Charlie?" He asked. "His friend's driver. He's home already, sha." I said and immediately slapped my mouth when I realized the Nigerian in me slipped out.

Aaron chuckled, "you let the Nigerian in you slip out again?" He asked. He's used to this by now. "Sorry. I'm so tired I'm not paying attention." I said. "It's fine, you've only been here for three years and some months. Besides it's a part of you." Aaron said and I smiled. "Thanks. Will call you when I get home and in bed." I said.

"Okay, later pretty face." He said then ended the call.

Damn, he makes me smile everytime.
