"You're shameless, Choi Lia, you know that?" Jisu looks up from her phone to see Yeji staring at her own. "You force me to take you on a date just so you could post a picture of your little boyfriend? You're totally two-timing me."

Jisu shakes her head. "When did I say it was a date?"

"I think we're past wondering if these are dates." Yeji's smirk is familiar, but it now stirs something different, something Jisu can't quite pin down.

She sighs, her hand brushing against Yeji's before finally grabbing it. She swings their arms back and forth like she used to love doing. The feeling of warmth and the weight of Yeji's fingers fills her with relief, as if they hadn't been apart for years. But for a brief moment, that joy twists into doubt and she wonders if everything is really that simple, if it should be.

"They found out he has a boyfriend and told them to break up or else they're cutting his contracts." Yeji lets out a hissing sound, and Jisu is fixated on the gloominess taking over her face-older, more serious than the girl she used to know.

"Same old management."

"Apparently, he made a big scene. Cried and everything... And then my manager told me to post a picture with him. It's their way of torturing him, I guess."

"Man, that's shit. I forgot how insane Korean management is." Yeji shook her head, but she could see it-that familiar bitterness, the weight of a life Jisu knew all too well and that Yeji recognized from their shared years in the industry.

"Yeah, that's how it is..." Jisu glances at her, and for a moment, something unspoken passed between them. About what they used to be, and what they both had to leave behind. Something about what they could've been. Jisu dismisses it with a shrug, and says, "Here... I feel so free."

"Right. Here, they don't care about those types of things." Yeji gave her a look, and it makes Jisu grit her teeth. She knows the rockstar is keeping her 'I told you so...' for later.

The singer chuckles, but it sounded hollow. "Anyway, I'm not in Korea right now. That means I've gotta have as much fun as I can while I'm here." Her hand travels down as she jokingly slaps Yeji's butt. Yeji's fingers tighten around hers, pulling her closer without missing a beat.

"I'll show you fun." She clamps on Jisu's hand again, leading them back to her hotel.

Hours passed, and the two still couldn't let go of each other. The suite now felt smaller, filled with the heat of their bodies and the emotions they'd left discarded.

The sun started to set on the city, and in the warmth of Yeji's embrace, Jisu is quickly lulled to sleep.

Yeji, on the other hand, is wide awake. The calm in the room is deceptive, a mere façade hiding the ruckus. Because from her side of the bed, Yeji's mind can't stop her thoughts from racing.

Eventually she comes to question herself. If you excuse certain actions because you're drunk but behave the same when you're sober, then... do you really have an excuse?
