Akshara still had her eyes closed as she surfaced from a deep sleep. It took a moment to remember that she was on a break and could afford to sleep longer. The warmth and coziness that enveloped her brought a smile to her face, reminding her of the man who had managed to steal the last piece of her heart. They had fallen asleep in each other's arms, his chest pressed against her back, and his arm loosely draped around her waist.
Smiling, she moved to kiss the arm she lay on before slowly rolling over to face him. She observed him as he slept, resisting the urge to wake him. Instead, she kissed his upper arm softly, content in the moment. Everything felt so perfect.
Was it really that simple?
She snuggled closer and gently kissed his arm again, raising her eyes to find him already awake, looking at her. Embarrassed, she buried her face in his chest, blushing. He planted a kiss on the top of her head and whispered, "Good morning."
She pulled back slightly, studying his face for a long moment before placing a kiss on her favorite spot—the cleft in his chin hidden behind his stubble.
"Good morning," she replied with a teasing smile.
"Will you stop teasing me like that?"
"What?" She laughed softly.
He pulled her closer, his lips hovering just above hers. "If you're going to kiss me, do it right. Don't tease."
With a playful glint in her eye, she stuck out her tongue and traced his lower lip, sending a shiver through his body. He groaned, his eyes rolling shut in frustration.
"Akshara, cut it out."
"I don't know any other way to kiss," she whispered, biting his lower lip gently.
His grip tightened on her waist, making her breath hitch. "If you keep this up, we'll never get out of bed."
"Maybe I should stop kissing you then," she teased, pulling away slightly.
Chuckling, he ran his fingers through her hair, pulling her back into a firm kiss. "That's how you kiss, and I'll give you a full lesson—after I get you some coffee."
"I'd love that," she said, laughing as he walked away. Her heart pounded for him, and she knew it always would.
Later that morning, after she had showered, Akshara wandered into the home office. Her curiosity piqued by the awards and mementos on the walls, she moved closer to examine them. One caught her eye, and she laughed softly when she read it:
Birla Family Reunion – Sports and Games Champion.
The room was filled with similar awards for various family tournaments, and it amused her to see how many of them Abhimanyu had won. She smiled, realizing he had kept his family-related trophies at his home while leaving his professional accomplishments at his parents' house.
"I see you found the Wall of Fame," Abhimanyu chuckled, walking up behind her and kissing her bare shoulder.
"I'm impressed," she smiled, leaning her head against his chest.
He laughed. "These are the ones I'm most proud of."
She turned to face him, grinning. "No wonder your cousins tried so hard to beat you during the turmeric games."
"And I got my favorite woman to put the paste on me," he teased.
"For triple the prize money?" she joked.
"Totally worth it," he said, pulling her into a deep kiss.
She pulled back, a playful challenge in her eyes. "You need to play with me and win."
"Oh? What game?"
"Any game."
"You're challenging the defending champion of the family tournaments?"
"Ooh, I'm scared," she said, feigning fear.
Several hours later, Akshara was focused intently on the red coin on the carom board. Abhimanyu, on the verge of losing his fourth game in a row, threw his hands up in frustration.
"How the hell is this possible?"
Without looking up, she hushed him. "You sound like a sore loser."
He fell silent as she finished the game, letting out a squeal of victory. "Now, Mr. Birla, that's how you win tournaments."
"Beginner's luck. Let's pick another game," he muttered, storming into his study. She followed, laughing.
"Abhimanyu, it's so adorable seeing you like this."
"Right," he grumbled.
Stepping in front of him, she wrapped her arms around his broad chest. "I'd rather have my kissing lesson now. No more board games."
"Not fair." He looked down at her, clearly unamused.
"I've been thinking about how I should really be kissing you, and I think I've got it figured out. Can I try?"
His eyes darkened with desire, though his expression remained neutral. Smiling, she rose onto her tiptoes and nipped at his chin, causing him to growl in frustration. Her kisses trailed from his jawline, sending a shiver through him as the tension between them shifted into something more powerful.
He pulled her closer, running his hands over her back, and she could feel the heat between them intensifying. She wrapped her arms around him as their lips collided in a fierce kiss, her body reacting to the fire between them.
"Baby, I can't wait. I want you," he whispered hoarsely, his confession sending waves of pleasure through her body.
"I want you too," she whispered, wrapping her legs around his waist as he carried her toward his bedroom.
Once inside, everything felt different. The room, which had once been just his, now felt like it belonged to both of them. As he laid her down on the bed, her back against the mattress, she knew this moment would be etched in her heart forever.
He kissed her neck, nipping at her skin, and she moaned his name. Her desire for him was overwhelming. She sat up, straddling him, their eyes locking in a silent conversation.
As he pulled off her t-shirt, his eyes darkened with longing. His hands moved up her torso, caressing her skin before his lips trailed along her chest. She gasped as his mouth found its way to her breasts, every kiss sending shocks of pleasure through her body.
"Abhimanyu... I..." she could barely speak.
"Baby, you're driving me crazy," he murmured, before pulling her down onto the bed.
The rest of the world disappeared as they came together, moving in perfect rhythm. She held him close, feeling complete in his arms. Every part of her knew he was the one—her heart, her body, her soul.
"I love you, Abhimanyu," she whispered as they reached their peak together.
"I will love you forever..." were the last words she heard before drifting off into a state of pure bliss, cradled in the warmth of his embrace.
Yours
