Requested by @cornonthecob_ : "I'm usually more of a silent reader but I loved the first chapter so here goes, would you do a post crash, masc reader. I would love it."

Reider aka 'reader' speaks..
Hey corn! Hope you didn't mind that I quoted your request on here. Thank you for commenting and requesting for a oneshot. I'm a bit of a people pleaser so I was pretty nervous writing for you since I didn't wanna get it wrong and all. Please tell me I got it correct lol, if not, I have another one cooking up in my drafts (which, to clarify, is post rescue!lottie x tmasc/male reader).

Oneshot status: edited

Everyone in the cabin has been bickering practically all day, and Lottie was starting to get tired of it. And by everyone, she meant everyone excluding Coach Ben (and maybe y/n), because unlike Travis, he wasn't always trying to nitpick and start fights with the girls. That misogynistic asshole.

Someone had left the lantern outside, someone had stolen from the meat shed, someone was using someone else's blanket.

It was always something.

The constant whining was starting to get to her, so, she figured some fresh winter air would do her good. A little escape from all the complaints.

Standing up and pulling her hood over her head, she notices you sitting by the window, looking just as fed up as her. She smiles, tapping your shoulder to get your attention. "Hey. I'm going for a walk. Would you like to come with me? If I have to hear Mari complain about one more thing, my ears might just fall off."

"I'm sure we both could use some fresh air." Lottie adds with a soft smile.

"Alright, I'm convinced. Lead the way, Matthews."

You find yourself following a trail (it was more of a path) in the woods, Lottie by your side. The scenery was beautiful, especially in the evening, when the moon rose high and the stars twinkled in the pitch black night sky. From the snow-covered pine trees, to the frozen lake that separated the rest of the woods from your side of the terrain. Even if you loathed being stuck out here, in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, there was something about the wilderness that made everything just a bit more tolerable.

The tall brunette lead you deeper into the white forrest, shuffling closer to you as a wolf howl echoes through the trees.

"You're welcome to hold my hand." She's half-joking but part of her feels oddly compelled to do it. Maybe that part is from her trauma, she thinks. Having irresponsible people as parents has that kind of effect on you. Lottie's mom has lost her in crowded areas before. She has distinct memories of standing in the middle of a shop, scared and alone. By the time she was 9 and, again, lost in the Wiskayok's public park, walking home was a routine.

Or maybe it's that she has a crush on you?

"Do you like the cold?" She asks curiously, looking at you.
