—HEARING HIS NAME BEING CALLED BY THE PRINCIPAL IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL WAS SOMETHING KENZIE RONLAND DIDN'T EXPECT. a million of question flew through her mind. she looked at her friends with same expressions as their, curious of what is going to happen next.
just then, benjamin nielsen, walked in the gym grabbing the mic in his hands looking at the students in front of him. "hi everyone," he said rather nervously.
"yo sup!"
"i'm benj," he introduced himself. "yo it's k-hole!" a student yelled causing everyone in the gym to laugh along with him. "i need to say something,"
"i've been looking forward to high school since like forever," he began his speech but was quickly interrupted by someone in the crowd again. "nerd!" laughter erupted once again among the crowd.
"i know right? but for whatever reason, i believed that's where i was gonna become my best self. and i got off to a great start. i met some awesome people. but they didn't meet me. not the real me. you see, i was so obsessed with winning everyone over that i lost sight of the one person that i truly care about," hearing that, kenzie's head snapped towards his direction, making direct eye contact with him.
"kenzie this is for you," when that was announced, everyone started muttering among themselves. then he did the most unexpected thing in the world. he started singing. in front of the whole school. for her.
"i can't believe this is happening," kenzie mumbled and looked around nervously. "me neither i didn't know he had the balls to do it!" alyssa laughed. "i'm impressed," baylie agreed.
eddie decided to hype up his best friend and started clapping his hands, causing everyone else around him to start clapping with him, completely hyping up the boy below them.
"everybody!" benj yelled and everyone started singing along with, vibing to the beat of the song. "he's insane," kenzie said as she looked at the scene before her. "crazy for you," baylie said and wiggled her eyebrows teasing her best friend.
by the end of the song, benj found himself kneeling in front of kenzie with his hand out. "what do you say kenzie? will you be my girlfriend?" the question flew outside the boy's mouth causing everyone around him cheer and wait with anxiousness for the girls reply.
kenzie was panicking inside. she couldn't believe that her first relationship would have to be announced in front of the whole school. sure the whole singing gesture was something kenzie found special and sweet but she felt kind of awkward have to answer in front of everyone else.
but nevertheless, he still liked no scratch that, she loved that he had the guts to do this in front of the whole school just for her and she couldn't ask for more. looking at her friends again she looked at him dead in the eyes and-
"yes,"
everyone around them yelled excitedly and cheered for them. kenzie couldn't understand why everyone was so excited about her and benj but she couldn't care less. all she could think about was the fact that it finally happened.
benj brought her into a hug and the cheer only got louder. alyssa and baylie were high fiving each other and smiling like crazies for her best friend. connor and eddie were pretty excited as well for their friend.
breaking the hug, kenzie didn't think twice before bringing him into a kiss earning shouts and yells from around her. "okay okay enough pda for today," alyssa said breaking them up.
"okay fun is over! back to class now!" the principal yelled to the students. everyone stood up and headed towards their class.
kenzie and benj were hand in hand, giggling at each other. "i can't believe you did that. that shit was epic!" koosh laughed as he joined the couple. "can't disagree with that. that was pretty sick," connor added as well. "yeah didn't know you have the balls to do it," eddie butted in causing benj to give him a glare.
"i did it and it was the best thing i've ever done," benj confessed and smiled to the girl besides him. "spare me please before i barf on you," alyssa said as she passed by with baylie.
"shut up."
