—IT WAS THE NIGHT OF THE PARTY AND THE GIRLS WERE OVER AT KENZIE'S TO GET READY. 'rude boy' by rhianna was blasting through kenzie's speaker as the girls were dancing around, getting ready and having fun.
kenzie decided to keep it simple with her outfit. her hair was half up and half down, straighten as usual. she put on a strapless black top with a pair of light blue low rise jeans. she wore her golden jewellery and kept her makeup light.
once the girls were done, they got into baylie's car and headed off to the party.
once the girls arrived, the noticed that the house was already packed with teens dancing and drinking around. they made their way through the crowd and grabbed themselves a beer.
"what is nicole doing with that big-headed freak?" alyssa said as she looked at her ex girlfriend. "alyssa what did we say? you can't be mean for no reason!"
"yeah and you're being kind of scary," baylie said. "what? her head its like huge okay. it's just a fact! not that it matters. you know i'm all about body positivity-"
as alyssa continued with her rambling who rambling was only heard by baylie because kenzie's attention was caught by the boy who was heading downstairs. there he was. benjamin nielson heading their way with two cups in his hands.
she was sure as hell that his way was determined towards baylie, despite the fact that her friend reassured her that she doesn't like him she couldn't just believe that benji didn't like her all of a sudden.
as he was walking towards them, ruby came out of nowhere and punched him in the gut causing the nielson boy to groan in pain. ruby laughed and grabbed the cups from his hands and left.
baylie noticed as well that the nielson boy was heading their way so she nodded to alyssa and they left kenzie alone. "hey where are you guys going?" kenzie asked. "toilet!" alyssa said as bailey winked at her friend.
"hey you okay?" kenzie asked benj once he finally made his way to her. "yeah, just ruby being funny," he said, reassuring the girl in front of him. "sorry you had to stay with me. bayile is coming back though in a min," kenzie said as she looked at the direction where her friends left.
"who said anything about baylie? i came over here to talk to you," hearing that, kenzie's eyes widened and her cheeks became rosy immediately. "oh well that's nice. why's the change of heart?" she asked. "nothing. you don't want me talking to you?-"
"NO! no. i mean yeah it's totally fine. okay im gonna shut up now," she said nervously and closed her mouth. "you look pretty by the way," benj complimented her and smiled. kenzie couldn't believe she would live the day when benji was gonna tell her that she was pretty. am i high?she thought.
"thank you," she politely thanked him. "you cleaned up good as well. so, how's your first party. is it everything you've dreamt of?" she said with a chuckle as she looked around.
"so far so good. i don't know a lot of people so it's a little awkward," he said as he nervously looked around. "well you know me," kenzie smiled as she bumped her shoulder on his.
after talking to him, kenzie was now with her friends dancing to the beat, enjoying every second of their night out. looking around she noticed benj with jeff and jessica. a crowd he shouldn't be involved with. at all.
"hey guys, i'm gonna go gimme a sec," as she said that she quickly made her way towards the nielson boy and the other two.
"hey benj i was looking everywhere for you," kenzie said as she grabbed his hand. "yo, kenzie what's up girl," jeff said. he's definitely high kenzie thought. "yeah actually benj has to come with me bye!"
before they could say anything, she dragged the boy away so they could talk. "hey why you dragged me out of there i was finally making some friends," benj complained to the girl in front of her. kenzie noticed she was still holding is hand so she quickly let it go, missing the warmth of his hand.
crossing her arms, she gave him a serious look. "those guys aren't your friends trust me they're bad news," kenzie tried to warn him. "if you say so," benj sighed. "i know that you're trying to make friend but those kind of people, you don't wanna mess with trust me," she said with a smile.
kenzie has left the boy alone to be with her friends and benj found himself watching her from the distance with a drink in his hand.
he couldn't believe that he would find himself falling for the ronalnd girl. he was always so obsessed with baylie that he never noticed the girl that actually liked him. he regretted every time he ignored her for baylie. but he promised himself that he was gonna make everything right this time.
his thoughts were cut short when his chemistry teacher, mr Studebaker, approached him. "hey you're in my class right?" the older man asked the boy. "yeah, i'm benj," the younger boy replied. "benj with a j. that's right,"
"wanna hook me up with one of those?" me studebaker asked referring to the beer. benj handed him his cup and grabbed himself another cup. "so how was your first week of high school?"
"it was- it was good," benj nodded. "i like my classes so far," he continued. "high school's the best man, enjoy it."
the older man, noticed that benj's attention was caught by something. or someone. "you like her don't you?" benj just looked down at his beer. "one advice man. just go for it. you got nothing to loose,"
