Chapter 2 to idk are not edited, meaning it is not fixed yet. Let me know if there's something that doesn't make sense, cuz to me it does...
Her face was as deadpan as ever, but Isaac could sense something was up. "We'll run away from here," Noah said in a soft voice.
"Run?" Finn asked back, flatly. "Run to where?"
He smiled. "Run with me, and we're going anywhere you want to go."
Noah finished unshackling Finn and helped her up. He fished in his pocket and brought out a key card, motioning for Finn to follow. "C'mon, let's go," he said, yanking on her hand.
But Finn didn't move. Noah turned back to her, furrows of concern etched across his face. "What's wrong?" he asked.
Finn's apathetic eyes rose to his and Isaac thought he saw fear.
"Are you in on his scheme, too?"
Noah's face was creased in confusion. "Scheme?" he repeated.
Finn simply shook her head. "Never mind, let's go."
She walked stiffly and mechanically beside Noah. Noah swiped the key card at the door, and it beeped, releasing them into the night air. Finn looked up to the sky, her eyes searching.
"I want to go to the ocean," Finn replied.
"The ocean?" Noah repeated. "Why?"
"It's quiet," Finn said. "Can we go now?"
Noah still hesitated; a smile played on his lips. "What's the rush?" he asked.
Finn's eyes narrowed. "I doubt that Isaac would let us go this easily," she said, with an abundance of skepticism in her voice.
Noah's expression turned sharp. "Finn," he started, his voice firm, "I have spoken to him and scolded him for what he did to you. He will not trouble us again."
But Isaac knew that wasn't the truth. Isaac had a plan that was already in motion.
Noah and Finn were walking right into his trap.
Finn's gaze didn't falter, her dark brown eyes searching his face. She took a step back, her gaze flicking to the building behind them.
Isaac watched from the shadows. He raised a small device from his pocket, his thumb hovering over the button in case she tried anything. He'd sent a small shock.
Noah's hand closed around Finn's, his fingers intertwining with hers. "Come on, let's get out of here," he said, tugging her forward.
Finn's eyes lingered on the building, her expression skeptical. But she followed Noah, her steps hesitant.
With every step away from the building, darkness closed in around them. The only sound their footsteps made was against the crunch of gravel. Isaac's eyes remained stuck on the pair as his hand clutched the device. Noah and Finn continued on and, after some more minutes of quiet walking, finally reached the beach.
The waves crashed in, the noises filling the air, while the saltwater derived their smell upwards to them. Noah and Finn stood at the edge of the beach, the night giving over to the pale light of the moon.
"You don't have to worry about the chip in your neck, I've disabled it," Noah said loudly, his voice carrying over the sound of the waves.
"Why are you yelling?" Finn asked.
"Finn, please trust me," Noah said, his eyes locked onto hers.
Finn turned to him, her eyes flashing with anger. She pushed him to the ground, and they both fell onto the sand. Her hair fell forward, covering her face, and she hovered over him, her chest heaving with emotion.
