sapphire was still unconscious when she was brought home by poppy, rhodey tried to wake her up but she got badly hit by one of the machines causing her to be knocked out cold.
"what happend to her?" rhodey asks, "i don't know, peter called me and told me to get her i found her like this." poppy defended, "if she does wake up just call me." rhodey says and leaves the room.
poppy takes a seat next to sapphires bed, "you're a twat saph." poppy laughs, "i know." a voice said, sapphires voice was croaky and raspy, "you're awake!" poppy said and hugged sapphire, "yeah." sapphire said and just stayed stiff while poppy hugged her.
the girl pulled away, "you still don't like hugs?" poppy asks, "not really." sapphire admited, leaning her head down a little, poppy lightly sighed before sitting back down on the chair, "what's up?" sapphire asks confused.
"uh, i'm moving back in with tony next week." poppy says not looking in sapphires eyes, "i know." sapphire breathed, poppy gave a small smile, "rhodey and tony think that we need some time apart to figure out who we are alone, i don't want to but we don't really have a choice." poppy sighs again.
"i know, i've known for a little while." sapphire says, poppy stands up, "you've known and you didn't tell me?" the red head sits up realisation strewn across her face.
"shit, no i just accidentally read rhodeys mind and yeah..." sapphire defends, "well can't you get into their minds again to change it so we can stay together?" poppy asks, "poppy, i can't.. i'm not going to control people again." sapphire gets off her bed.
"you did it to the teacher." poppy states, her eyes clouding over, "that's different, i'm not controlling the people i care about, not again i told myself that i wouldn't."
"but you'll read their minds?" poppy has a small tear rolling down her cheek, "i cant control that poppy.. it's harder to control that then my actual powers." sapphire defended, "but i don't want to be away from you, saph we've been together our whole lives!" poppy says.
"poppy, maybe they're right, maybe we do just need to live alone for a while, neither of us will be around eachother all the time so it's just preparation for the real world." sapphire says, "i'm sorry." the read head apologised, "i don't care.".
poppy just stared at the girl with a look she never had looked at sapphire with before, "whatever, if you don't want me around that badly i'll go." poppy says before storming out of sapphires room, "fuck!" sapphire yells, she hears poppy teleporting out of the apartment.
"what was all that about?" rhodey walks into sapphires room, "nothing, we just had an argument." sapphire states and sits back down on her bed, "you okay?" rhodey asks her, the girl just nods.

poppy had been ignoring sapphire in class, the girl hoped that she wasn't doing it on purpose but she knew exactly what poppy was doing.
the red head was waiting at the bus to go to dc for the academic decathlon, she was waiting for poppy but the girl didn't arrive, sapphire left three voicemails and loads of messages she even called tony, but neither of them answered.
"is poppy not coming?" liz asked, "nope." sapphire said bluntly before climbing into the bus.

"oi spidey!" sapphire whispered from her seat that was right behind ned, peter turned around to face the girl, "can you text noah and ask if poppys with him?" peter nodded before liz asked him to focus, "thanks." she smiled before leaning back in her seat.
sapphire was reading from her book while leaning against the window, she had moved a seat down since peter kept moving back and forth through the seats, "what is that thing?" sapphire leans over the chairs to reach ned.
"uh, it's something from the spider suit." ned says, "oh cool." sapphire whispers before sitting back down, peter had stood up and made his way to the seat in the middle of ned and sapphire, he was on call with someone.
"happy i gotta say, tracking me without my permission..." peter says, sapphire leans her head up at happys name, "... is a complete violation of privacy." "and a little weird." sapphire leans over to peter making sure happy could hear her, "sapphires there?" happy asks, "yeah..." peter says, "oh, cool."
"it's just academic decathlon it's no big deal!" peter defends, sapphire just listens in on the rest of their conversation peter hung up and leaned his head back on the window.

the bus stopped at the building for the decathlon, sapphire got out followed by ned and peter, the three teens split up and the girl went with mj to find their rooms together, the two girls got into their room, mj sat down on the bed, her book in hand and started to read again.
two hours pass and liz runs into the girls room asking them to come down to the pool, both of them tell her that they'll be down soon and liz just smiles before leaving the room again.
sapphire walks out of her room to go for a little stroll round the building when she sees liz and peter talking, she overhears the conversation and waits until peter walks away from her, "peter you're like the smartest guy i've ever met." sapphire mocks twirling her hair.
peter just carefully nudges her, "dude, she likes you and you completely ignored her!" sapphire whisper yells turning back to make sure liz couldn't hear, "no, no she doesn't like me." peter defends, "you're an idiot... anyway if you turned her down where are you going, must be important."
"now- nowhere." peter states, "mmhm sure, you're going nowhere and you need to wear your suit for that?" she asks, "wha-.. how'd you." peter asks shocked, "i'm not an idiot." sapphire states, "also if you wanna hide the fact that your spider-man you might want to try a little harder," sapphire points to the back of his hoodie where you could see his suit poking out.
peter just pulls his hood up, "be careful, where ever you're going, i- we can't have you dying right before the decathlon can we." sapphire smirks, peter just nods, a small smile appearing on his face before he walks off, sapphire stands there for a second watching the boy walk off before turning around and walking in the direction of the pool.
