NOAH AND POPPY walk into the library, noah had noticed the shift in his friends attitude but was unsure whether to ask about it, his leg was bouncing up and down before finally asking her, "are you okay?." poppy lifts her head up to the boy, "yeah." she says bluntly before looking back down at the book she had in her hands.
"poppy, what's up?" noah asks again, not letting the subject go, "nothing i'm fine." poppy doesn't even look up at the boy, "you're clearly not, and don't think i don't know about the fact that i know you should be on the decathlon trip to dc but instead you're here." noah pushes.
"noah i'm fine." poppy blunts and stands up closing her books and walking away from the door, "poppy!, wait!" noah quickly closes his book before walking quickly after the girl, he catches up to her and carefully grabs her arm, "what's going on?" he asks, his voice soft.
"me and saph had an argument." poppy admits, "and i think we both said some stuff we regret." noah looks at his friend with an unreadable look, "i'm sorry." is all he says, poppy just nods at the boy, "it's not your fault, noah." the curly haired girl smiled, the air" next to the two became awkward so noah cleared his throat, "uh are-are you going with anyone to homecoming?" he asks nervously.
"not at the moment why?" poppy asks, a small smile creeping on her face, noah hesitates, "do you, uh, would you want to co-come with me?" noah asks slightly stuttering. poppy stares at the boy, "you-you don't have to i was jus-." noah stutters again, "i'd love to go with you," poppy smiles, cutting the boy off, noah smiled before hugging the girl.
