The week ended up going by fast as hell and it was already Friday. I met with Christian and Lathan at the mall since they wanted to find something to wear for the party. I rarely shopped at the mall, but I bet I was going to end up getting something out of here anyway. Once they found their outfits, we made our way out. We made plans to meet up at Christian's house because he said his friend, Lamar would give us all a ride to the party.
I wasn't conceited or anything, but I couldn't deny that me and my crew looked good as fuck tonight. We took some pictures, posted them to our socials, and we were on our way. When we walked in, it seemed as if all eyes were on us, not that I would be complaining, because we did look good.
I had on a blue two-piece romper set that showed off my slim-thick shape, paired with silver sandals and accessories. My girl Lathan had on a black, skin-tight dress with gold heels and gold accessories to match. And Christian definitely thought he was the shit tonight, not that I could blame him. He showed up to show the fuck out. He had on a Gucci button-up shirt, paired with some nice ripped jeans. A fresh pair of Gucci shoes were on his feet and a Rolex on his wrist to top it all off. If he wasn't already dealing with someone, I'm already knowing he would have left this party with a number or two.
"Pop That" by French Montana started playing and me and Lathan went straight to the dance floor. Nobody could tell us anything when this song came on. When I bent over and put my hands on my knees, I felt someone walk up behind me and put their hands on my waist. Not bothering to turn around and see who it was, I just kept dancing but that was short-lived when I was spun around and came face to face with Syrus.
"Yo, why you got this short ass outfit on in here?" he asked, whispering in my ear. I looked at him like he had two heads. Last time I checked I had one father and he wasn't at this party.
"My dad's not here," I replied flippantly.
"Anyway smart ass," he started. "Me, Christian, and my boy Lamar are going to the Waffle House after this. You down?"
"I guess. It'll still be early, but let me see if my friend wants to come since she's supposed to be coming with me after." I made my way over to Lathan who looked irritated, which I found to be off because she was just having a good time until Syrus came over.
"Christian's friend, Syrus said they're going to Waffle House after this. I just wanted to make sure you were cool with going before I said yes, since you're coming back to my house."
"I think I'm just going to go home, Vani. I'm not really in the mood anymore," she said with a shrug.
"Oh okay, well how are you getting home?"
"Leah is picking me up." Leah is Lathan's older sister and she was older than us by a couple of years. We still hung out often, though.
I saw her sister pull up, so we said our goodbyes and I told her to text me when she gets home. She didn't say anything or hug me back, which I felt a way about, but I just brushed it off. I didn't need my mood being ruined next, especially before going to see Christian and Syrus. Something was up with Lathan, though, and I knew I would figure it out soon.
