A Tale of Two

Chapter two

It's been four months of Hadley being with Sarah and Eric, and she was having the time of her life.  It was now Almost October and Hadley couldn't wait for the fall and winter. For halloween Hadley has decided to go as a cowgirl. 

Today was a Friday meaning Hadley had school but school wasn't as bad anymore being friends with lily. Lily was the bestest friend to Hadley and she was glad to have a friend like Lily. today Hadley was going to ask if she could have a sleep over with Lily. Hadley got ready for school as she didn't need help from Sarah anymore. After getting ready she went downstairs to see that both Sarah and Eric were in the kitchen. Hadley knew this would be the best time to ask. 

"Can I ask you guys a question?" Hadley questioned, walking towards the counter getting both Eric and Sarah's attention.

"OF course you can." Eric replied, heading to sit next to Hadley. 

"Can I have a sleep over with Lily?" Hadley asked, looking at both her parents and giving them the puppy dog face that she knew if she used that neither of them would be able to say no to her. 

"With that face we have to say yes." Sarah said to her husband, getting a laugh from him. 

"Yes! thank you so much." Hadley exclaimed.

"You'll just have to ask her and then we can talk to her mother after school but, we have to start heading there so go get your stuff." Sarah tells her, as Hadley runs out of the room excited. 

Hadley and Sarah both said goodbye to Eric. Hadley walked into school excited to ask Lily for the sleepover. She walked into the room and sat down in her chair waiting for Lily to walk in. About 5 minutes later, Lily walked into the room. Hadley's face lit up seeing her friend, Lily sat down by Hadley and, before anything came out of Lily's mouth Hadley beat her to it by asking her to sleep at her house tonight. Lily of course said yes to that and both girls were very excited for their first sleepover together. 

Throughout the day Hadley and Lily talked about what they would do at the sleepover. They decided on playing games, going outside and playing volleyball, maybe even a little of Basketball, and then also doing some chalk. After that they had come to the idea of having a movie night. They of course fought over what movie they would watch, as Lily wanted to watch Toy Story but, Hadley wanted to watch Inside out. They both agreed that they could watch both since they didn't have school the next day. 

After school, Hadley's mother talked with Lily's mother both agreeing for the sleepover. When they arrived at Hadley's house, they were greeted by the delicious smell of freshly baked cookies. Hadley's mom had made chocolate chip cookies before getting the girls, and the girls couldn't wait to dig in. They washed their hands quickly and sat down at the kitchen table, giggling and munching on the warm, gooey treats.

After their snack, the girls headed up to Hadley's room to play. They spread out their sleeping bags on the floor and took out their favorite board game, Candy Land. They played several rounds, laughing and cheering each other on. When they grew tired of the game, they decided to head outside to play basketball and a couple of rounds of volleyball. Then they went in to do a fashion show. They raided Hadley's closet and tried on all sorts of outfits, from princess dresses to superhero capes. They even put on some of Hadley's mom's old costumes, which made them laugh even harder. 

Awhile later, Sarah had called both of girls downstairs for supper. During supper they all talked about their day and how it went. As the evening wore on, they settled down to watch a movie. They snuggled up in their sleeping bags with bowls of popcorn and watched "Toy Story". After watching Toy Story they decided to put on inside out. By the time the movie ended, they were both feeling sleepy. They turned off the lights and whispered secrets to each other until they finally drifted off to sleep, dreaming of all the fun they had and the adventures they would have the next day.

The next day, Hadley and Lily both got up, they got dress for the day knowing that Lily's mother would be there soon to pick her up. They headed downstairs seeing pancakes on the table ready to be eaten. "Yes! I can't wait to eat these pancakes." Hadley said, sitting at the table grabbing a couple of pancakes. 

"Me too. My mom never makes pancakes because, she says it's always a mess to clean up." Lily replied. 

After eating the pancakes they both waited for lily's mother to come. Around 9:30 Lily's mother drove into the drive way. After lily left, Hadley went to her room and started cleaning all the clothes and sleeping bag as her room was a mess after the sleepover. While she was cleaning Sarah came into her room. "Did you have a fun time?" Sarah asked her daughter. "Yes it was the best. Thank you so much." Hadley said running towards her mother to give her a hug. "You are very welcome." Sarah replied. 

Hadley spent the day with Sarah and Eric as they had errands to run like getting groceries for the week. They also dropped some things off at the post office. After running the errands they headed home to get supper started. While Eric made supper, Sarah and Hadley got the table set up and ready for supper. While they ate, they talked about the up coming week and what they had planned. Of course Eric and Sarah had work and Hadley had school.  After supper they all sat down in the living room watching tv for the rest of the night.

Heyyyy guys chapter two is here. I hope you enjoyyyyyy. Anyways just want to let you know that in this book there will be time jumps. Another thing I plan to have Sarah get pregnant when Hadley is about 10-11. So right now Hadley is in grade 3 and when she is 10-11 she would be in 5th grade. But during that time there will be time jumps going around. anyways  just go with the flow as I am too lol.  Next chapter is gonna be a short one, also speaking of that im thinking of keeping chapters between 700-1,000 words.
