Today was Christmas. Hadley loved Christmas, it was winter and it was close to her birthday. Today she also gets to meet her new family members since moving in. This was also Hadleys first Christmas with Eric and Sarah, she was so happy to finally have a family to celebrate holidays with.

The whole family woke up this morning seeing that Santa had came. They opened all the presents that were under the tree, everyone was very grateful for what they had gotten. After opening presents, they had decided it would be the best time to get ready as they needed to leave the house by 11:30 and it was 9:45. When they were done getting ready they started heading to Sarah's mother's house which is Hadley's grandmother. Hadley wouldn't be lying if she said she was a little nervous to meet everyone as she didn't know if they would like her or not.

Sitting in the front Sarah looked behind her noticing that Hadley looked a little nervous. So Sarah wanted to make sure she felt comfortable. "Hadley, everything is going to be ok. You don't have to be nervous everyone is going to love you." Sarah had told her daughter. After hearing this  Hadley felt less nervous and was very excited to meet everyone.

After about an hour of driving they finally got to the house. As they drove up the drive way there were about 5 cars parked outside. "Again remember everyone is excited to meet you and there is nothing to worry about, if anyone is mean you come to me and I will deal with it." Eric tells his daughter. "I agree if anyone gives you trouble you come to both of us." Sarah replied, agreeing with her husband. After talking to their daughter, they all got out of the car. They had grabbed their belongings from the back of the car and headed to the door.

As they walked through the door they were met with talking, and laughter. The room was filled with people, each one more welcoming than the last. Sarah's mother, a petite woman with kind eyes and a warm smile, was the first to approach her.

"Hadley, dear, it's so wonderful to finally meet you," she said, pulling her into a hug. "We've heard so much about you." Linda was very excited to meet her granddaughter, she was so happy for her daughter and son-in-law as they finally got a child they had been wanting for years.

Hadley smiled, feeling some of her nerves melt away. "Thank you. It's great to be here."

"Now, come meet the rest of the family." Linda had said, as they all walked into the living room. Sarah and Eric were happy that Hadley had a grandma to be friends with and had seen Hadley's nerves going away.

Linda led Hadley around the room, introducing her to aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. Each introduction was accompanied by a warm handshake or a hug, and Hadley found herself feeling more at ease with each passing moment. She was struck by how close-knit and loving everyone  was, and she couldn't help but feel grateful to be welcomed into such a wonderful group.

As the evening wore on, Hadley found herself surrounded by warmth and love. They played games, shared stories, and enjoyed a delicious feast prepared by Linda and the other family members. Hadley was struck by how seamlessly she fit into the group, as if she had always been a part of the family.

Later, as the evening drew to a close and the family gathered around the tree to exchange gifts, Hadley felt a sense of contentment settle over her. She watched as the family members exchanged thoughtful presents and heartfelt words, and she realized that this was what Christmas was all about—being surrounded by those you love and who love you in return.

When it was her turn to receive a gift, she was handed a small, beautifully wrapped box. She opened it to find a delicate silver bracelet with a horse charm. She was very happy to get a horse charm as she had loved horses with a passion, after putting the bracelet on she thanked her grandma for giving it to her.

As she looked around the room, at the faces of the people who had welcomed her with open arms, she knew that this was a Christmas she would never forget. It was the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.

After having a long day, everyone had sat down to watch a movie. Hadley was sitting by Eric snuggling up to him. Half way through the movie Hadley could feel her eyes becoming drooping. After fighting the sleep, she had finally fallen asleep. After a little bit Eric had noticed that his daughter had fallen asleep, he had decided to take her up to the room she would be staying in. After Eric left the room, Sarah's mother, Linda, had looked at Sarah and whispered to her, "She is the best child, she is going to be a great addition to your family and ours. I'm very proud and happy for you and Eric." Linda said, getting a proud smile from Sarah and a "Thank you mom."
