The days that followed were a whirlwind of decision-making for Jimin. His meetings were clouded with thoughts of YN and the growing tension in his marriage. Despite trying to focus on work, he found himself increasingly distracted. The conversations with YN were the only moments of clarity he had, and he clung to them like a lifeline.

Friday evening rolled around, and Jimin found himself at home, unable to shake off the restlessness. He paced his living room, contemplating his options. Just as he was about to reach for his phone to call YN, the doorbell rang. He hesitated, his heart sinking. It was probably Hyuna, back from one of her social events.

Opening the door, Jimin was surprised to find YN standing there, a smile on her face and a bouquet of flowers in her hands.

“Hey,” YN said cheerfully. “I thought I’d drop by. I brought these for you.”

Jimin was taken aback, but he couldn’t hide his smile. “You didn’t have to. This is a nice surprise.”

YN stepped inside, and Jimin led her to the living room. As she placed the flowers on the coffee table, he couldn’t help but notice how effortlessly she brightened the room.

“They’re just flowers,” YN said with a shrug. “But I thought you could use a little cheer.”

Jimin watched her, feeling a mixture of gratitude and guilt. “Thank you, YN. I really appreciate it.”

They settled onto the couch, and Jimin found himself opening up more than he intended. “Things have been rough lately. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want, and it’s hard to know where to start.”

YN nodded, her expression understanding. “Change is always difficult, especially when it involves things you’ve invested so much time and energy into. But sometimes, you have to take the first step, even if it’s scary.”

Jimin’s gaze lingered on YN, his thoughts drifting to the earlier conversations they’d had. Her words had a calming effect on him, and he found himself sharing more about his struggles with his marriage.

“I’m just so tired of pretending,” Jimin admitted, his voice heavy with frustration. “I’ve been living this lie for so long, and it’s taking a toll on me.”

YN listened intently, her hand reaching out to touch his. “You don’t have to do this alone. You have people who care about you, and it’s okay to lean on them.”

Jimin felt a warmth spread through him at her gesture. “You’ve been incredibly supportive, YN. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

As the evening wore on, they talked about their lives, their dreams, and their fears. The connection between them deepened, and Jimin found solace in YN’s company. It was as if, for a brief moment, the world outside ceased to exist.

The doorbell rang again, and this time, Jimin’s heart sank. He knew it was Hyuna, and the timing couldn’t have been worse. YN looked at him with a questioning glance.

“It’s probably Hyuna,” Jimin said, standing up. “I should answer the door.”

YN’s expression was a mix of concern and understanding. “Do you want me to stay?”

Jimin hesitated, then nodded. “If you don’t mind. It might be awkward, but I’d appreciate it.”

YN gave him a reassuring smile. “Of course. I’ll be here.”

Jimin opened the door to find Hyuna standing there, looking as composed as ever. “Hey,” she said coolly. “I didn’t expect to see anyone else here.”

Jimin forced a smile, trying to mask his anxiety. “Yeah, YN stopped by for a bit.”

Hyuna’s gaze flickered to YN, her expression unreadable. “I see.”

There was a tense silence as the two women exchanged glances. YN stood up, giving a polite nod. “It was nice seeing you, Hyuna. I should get going.”

Hyuna’s eyes narrowed slightly, but she managed a forced smile. “Nice to meet you, YN.”

As YN left, Jimin felt a wave of relief mixed with unease. The tension between him and Hyuna was palpable, and he knew it wouldn’t be easy to navigate the situation.

Returning to the living room, Hyuna’s gaze was sharp. “You seem to be spending a lot of time with YN. Is there something you want to tell me?”

Jimin took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her question. “We’re just friends, Hyuna. I needed someone to talk to, and YN has been a good listener.”

Hyuna’s eyes narrowed, but she didn’t push further. “Well, if that’s all it is, then I suppose it’s fine. Just remember that we need to present a united front. People are watching us.”

Jimin nodded, his frustration barely contained. “Understood.”

As Hyuna retreated to her room, Jimin sank into the couch, feeling drained. The evening had been a whirlwind of emotions, and he was left wondering how long he could continue living this double life.

The next morning, Jimin received a text from YN, checking in on him after their encounter with Hyuna. Her words were comforting, and he felt a surge of gratitude for her presence in his life.

YN: Good morning! How are you doing today?

Jimin quickly replied.

Jimin: Morning. I’m hanging in there. Thanks for last night. It meant a lot to me.

YN: Anytime. If you need anything, just let me know.

Jimin read her message, feeling a renewed sense of hope. Despite the challenges he faced, YN was a beacon of light in his otherwise turbulent life. He knew that the path ahead would be difficult, but with YN’s support, he felt a glimmer of possibility.
