Part 3 - Is this what they call Karma?

"Thanks for today, Nathan. It was fun!" You thanked him. He waved his hands, doing the no-no gesture. "It's my pleasure. Thank you for hanging out with me! See you on Monday, Ivy!" He said while he waved and went the other way. "See you!" You said and waved back. You head back home. You were pulled back by force. "Hey!" You shouted. It was Aiden. He made you face him. "What was that? Huh? You replaced me already? That fast? Or were you trying to make me jealous?" He shouted at you. 

"What is it to you, Aiden? Why do I need to explain it to you? You're just a classmate and what the hell? Make you jealous? What am I? A kid? You have a girlfriend, I know but do you think I would go that far? That low? Who do you think I am? Huh?! I'm glad to stop the friendship, Aiden! You're showing your true colours!" You shouted at him while tears escaped your eyes. "True colours?! Then what about you? Huh? I asked what about you?! Why are you doing this?!" He asked in a pained tone while tears escaped his eyes.

"Did you even hear what I told you in the morning? I said that it would be easier for the both of us! Your mind wouldn't keep on reminding of what you saw, and what I said to you and.. I'll.. I'll not be hurt. Okay? What more do I need to say? What more can I do? Is there more to explain, Aiden?" You asked desperately while more tears escaped from your eyes, uncontrollably. "Ivy.." He called out to you.. 

"Please.. Aiden.. Just leave.." You said while you removed his hand on your arms and walked towards your house. "Ivy! I-" He called out to you once again. You didn't let him finish his sentence and turned around to face him. "LEAVE!" You shouted and he got the hint and left. You got inside and broke down. "I'm sorry.. Aiden.. I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean to hurt you.. I didn't mean to shout at you.. but.. it hurts to see your face.. I feel suffocated.. I just want the both of us to be happy with our lives.. please understand.." You said to yourself while you cried harder.

Few weeks passed, and you and Nathan had become close friends. The background of your phones are each other's faces with decorations filled with friends' themes and stickers. You were glad you were able to distract yourself from Aiden. You looked at the clock and it was only 11am. You have around 30 minutes for the next class. You decided to go to the rooftop to get some fresh air. You were about to push the door, you heard Nathan's voice. He was talking to someone.

"It's okay, it will be over soon but why do they want us to do this anyway? I guess they're an eyesore for people. Best friends? More like lovers. I can't wait to end this. She's so annoying, you know? She kept asking about every single detail. Like (How do you want to do this?) or (How do you want me to do this?). Are you kidding me? And on top of that, she's so boring. Seriously? How did Aiden become friends with her? I can't believe it." He said to the person and you heard them laugh. Tears that were built up in your eyes, escaped. Once again, you felt suffocated.

"Ivy?" You heard Aiden's voice which made you turn to him. You were shocked but acted like nothing happened. "What happened?" He asked you. You ignored him and tried to stay composed like nothing really happened and head towards the stairs. A few steps down, he grabbed your arm. "What happened, Ivy? Why are you crying?" He asked, in a cold but concerned tone. "It's nothing, Aiden. Let go of me." You said, trying not to let out a cracked voice and tried to break free from his grip. 

"It's not nothing, Ivy. I know you.. you try to hide things. Tell me." He demanded and the rooftop door opened. "Oh, Ivy." Nathan called out to you and you turned to him. Carey was with him. 'What is this? And Why is this happening to me..? Is this what they call Karma?' Inner you. "What happened? Why are you crying?" He asked you. You looked at him with a hurtful expression, then looked over to Aiden and he looked hurt seeing her with Nathan. "Why are you with him?" He asked Carey. "We had something to discuss." Nathan answered it for her. 

"Ivy, was he hurting you? Let go of her arm." He demanded Aiden and grabbed his arm. Little did you know, Aiden sensed that Nathan had hurt you. He grabbed Nathan's arm and Nathan pulled him on the platform. They started to fight. You rushed to the top of the stairs and tried to stop them from fighting. "Stop fighting! Stop it!" You shouted at them but none of them stopped. You grabbed Nathan's hand to let go of Aiden go, but he accidentally swung his hand too hard and you fell off the stairs. 

"Ivy!" You heard Aiden calling out your name and rushed towards you. You saw Nathan and Carey running away. "Ivy? Stay awake! I'm going to call t-" You cut him off. "It's okay, don't." You said, weakly. "What do you mean?! Are you crazy?!" He asked in a surprised and confused tone. "I'm not.. if you tell someone, you will get expelled for fighting.. you don't want that, do you..?" You asked him slowly as it was hard to breathe. "Of course that's not what I want but yo-" His voice started to fade away slowly and your vision went dark.
