Hector was taken aback by the glare coming from Travis. He jumped off the tree and landed swiftly.

"Nick must have used his ability, which is called Disturbance. It allows him to cancel or change what a person hears. It's a very useful ability when you want to sabotage someone or prevent information leaks," he explained.

'That's a very useful ability, but what about in a physical sense? Is he weak, or maybe he has an ace up his sleeve?'

"Tell me something, spring guy. How many types of abilities exist?"

"It's Hector, and how do you not know this? Oh, I almost forgot that you entered our class today. Well, there are three types of abilities."

1. **Body Type Abilities**:
   - These abilities are related to the physical attributes and capabilities of an individual's body.
   - Examples include enhanced strength, agility, durability, and specialized physical skills.

2. **Elemental Abilities**:
   - Elemental abilities involve control or manipulation of natural elements such as fire, water, earth, air, or other forces.
   - Users with elemental abilities can harness and manipulate these forces for various effects, ranging from offensive attacks to defensive maneuvers.

3. **Mental Abilities**:
   - Mental abilities are associated with the mind and consciousness of an individual.
   - Examples include telekinesis, telepathy, mind control, and other psychic powers that influence or interact with the thoughts and perceptions of oneself or others.

Travis thought of the people he'd met so far. All of them checked the list except Mrs. Monet from this morning.

"What about a gravity user?" he asked.

"You must be talking about Mrs. Monet. She counts as both an Elemental and a Mental due to the nature of her ability. She's quite the rare type and has a lot of influence in this world because of that," Hector said.

Travis nodded, smiled, and raised his thumb up at him. "Thanks for explaining, you were really a lot of help. Now—" He pulled Hector by the arm and balled his left fist, sending a powerful punch to his face.

"I gotta go make some more bands!"

Hector fell to his knees, clutching his face. "That was a dirty move," he uttered, using the last bit of strength in his body.

"I never claimed to be some kind of great warrior, you know. Especially since I'm at such a disadvantage. Peace out, man!" Travis said as he ran off, leaving Hector on the ground in pain.

At the starting point, Ms. Martinez stood there with her eyes closed. She suddenly smiled out of the blue.

'He managed to take his money. I'm impressed, especially since he's so weak at the moment,' she thought.

Ms. Scarlett Martinez, a wielder of Mental Abilities, has a unique power called the Vision Ability, which allows her to peer through the eyes of others. This grants her not only the ability to see what they see but also provides additional capabilities that bestow upon her formidable and versatile strength.

'I wonder what other things he has in store. He also called me Martinez. I'll make sure he pays for that,' she thought.

Back with Travis, who was sitting under a tree, he needed a break from all the running he had done. He sighed and leaned back on the tree.

'I managed to get stronger through the little exercise I did when I was being chased by the spring guy. It's not enough to give me an advantage, especially since I know nothing about people's abilities. I guess I should just listen and see what I find.'

Travis closed his eyes, tuning out the noise of the forest. He focused intently, searching for any useful sounds. Soon, he picked up on a conversation between three people.

"Hey! How many bands did you get?" one asked.

"I've got four bands. What about you?"

"Three bands, just one behind you. And you?"

"Two bands. I beat James in a duel and took his band. So why don't we form an alliance? We already know each other's weaknesses, so fighting isn't the best strategy."

"You're right. Let's do that. Do you have any info on the others?"

"I heard that Gin, Nick, and Jason formed an alliance too."

"Damn, they had to include Jason. We'll just have to avoid them, alright?"

'Hmm, what should I do? It looks like Nick also made me think that groups were disallowed. I wonder what else he might have changed,' Travis thought.

On the other side of the forest, three guys were sitting in a circle, placing bands in the middle. If we count their own bands, they had 10 in total. This was the first group formed when the game started.

It consisted of Gin, a Mental Ability User. He awakened the Psychic Camouflage ability—the power to blend into the surroundings by manipulating the perception of others. Basically, he can turn invisible.

The other was Nick, whom we've already introduced.

Lastly, there was Jason. He is a Physical Type, having awakened Super Agility powers, which give him exceptional balance, coordination, and acrobatic skills. These might seem useless, but in the hands of a martial artist, this power is deadly.

"I heard you joined the Deadz?" Gin asked Jason, who was sitting back casually.

"Yeah, but not officially. I still need to fight this guy and beat him. If I do, I'll join them."

"Wow, that's impressive. Don't forget us when you become a big-time executive in the Deadz," Nick said.

"Come on, guys. How could I ever leave you two behind?" Jason replied with a smile.

Using their skills, they had single-handedly defeated eight classmates and currently held the highest number of bands in the class.

Ms. Martinez suddenly appeared in their midst. They all smiled, admiring her figure.

"If you want to lose your eyesight, keep staring. Now tell me, why don't you look for other classmates?" she asked.

"Eh, that's boring. A hundred dollars is enough for us. We'll split it evenly, right guys?" Jason said, and they all nodded in agreement.

"Oh, why not eliminate another group? That'll get you even more bands," she suggested.

"What are you planning, Ms. Martinez?" Gin asked.

"Nothing. Let me check on the others," she said, then vanished from their sight.

"Seems like there are other groups out there. I'm sure if we team up, we can take them all down. Let's go on a hunt," Nick said.

"Good idea. Let's do it!"
