The next day, Maggie threw herself into work. It was a day she'd never forget; Maggie was five when John Dutton found her and six when Evelyn Dutton died. Maggie was only with Evelyn for a year, but in that time, Evelyn treated Maggie like her own, which the brunette woman would be forever grateful for. Maggie refused to think about it, so she worked from sunup to sundown.

Maggie had just finished unsaddling Bucky when she heard footsteps enter the barn. She continued what she was doing until a harsher pair of footsteps rushed into the barn, "In the barn with my brother. This feels like a Greek tragedy. If you bring out a goat, I'm fuckin' leaving." Beth spat out.

"Oh my god, you're a fucking child." Jamie seethed.

"We'll. I'm a child running for an office, and no one thinks you can win!" Beth shot back, and Maggie almost died at the thought of Beth Dutton in office.

"All I do for this family is fight. What have you ever done!" Jamie screamed.

"Oh, you're a fighter, Jamie. You just don't win 'em." Maggie could practically see the smirk on Beth's face.

"Hell, I don't," Jamie argued his voice echoed through the barn.

"If you were winning, I wouldn't be here, and neither would Maggie! He only calls us when you're losing."Maggie threw her head back in frustration; she was constantly brought into their arguments.

"What have I ever lost? This is the largest ranch in Montana. It's 200,00 acres larger than it was when I became chief council." Jamie rebutted.

"Argue with him, Jamie. Cause I don't care, I don't give a shit about this place, if dad died tomorrow, I would sell my shares to the Four Seasons, and I would swim laps in the pool they built without a once of remorse. Everything I do is for him. Everything you do is for you. The only reason I'm here is because he can't trust you." Beth began to leave the barn.
