Chloe's POV

"SHUT UP!" I yell at my brother who keeps making kissing noises while I text. "MOM! TELL HIM!" Ella laughs from across the living room and I send her a glare.

My Mother rolls her eyes at us all. "Jake stop winding up your sister, Chloe stop shouting."

Jake flips me off behind our Mothers back, I shake my head trying to ignore him. "MESSAGE ME BACKKKK!" I yell at my phone, slamming it shut. "Sorry." I mutter at my Moms disapproving gaze. "But she won't text me back!"

"Who?"

"Beca." Ella says with a smirk. "I met her the other day while you guys were out. She's really good at drawing and she seems pretty funny."

I nod. "She is and she draws a ton of things for me which is real cute." I say as my phone starts ringing, I click the volume button so I don't have to have it to my ear and can just talk normally. "You've finally decided to call me then?" I tease.

There's silence for a second, making me worry. "Uh, this isn't Beca. It's Kate." The familiar voice says.

"Oh, hi. Is everything okay?" I get a sniffle in response, I look over at Ella worriedly and she shrugs. "Are you okay? Is Beca okay?"

"No-Well yeah but no." I nervously chew on my lip, staring down at my phone. "Last night... she tried to kill herself. She's okay, we're at the hospital but she's not saying anything just staring at the wall."

My heart drops and I feel like puking. "W-what?"

"She's attempted before but hasn't for a while, I thought she was 'better' but she's not. You're welcome to come and visit her but she might not speak, sometimes with her autism if something terrible happens she won't say a single word for ages."

I stand nervous outside of room 329, I've been here about an hour trying to work up the courage to go in.

I let out a shaky breath, slowly opening the door to see Kate sitting on one of the chairs with her legs tucked up and her chin resting neatly on her knees while she stares at Beca. Sebastian is sitting on one of the other chairs, looking down at the ground.

I turn my focus to Beca who's quite literally just staring at the wall. No emotion on her face. She looks super pale while hooked up to a bunch of things. "Bec, look who's here." Kate says, grabbing Beca's hand.

The brunette looks over to me and her face is instantly filled with guilt. "That was a stupid idea, huh?" I joke and she cracks the smallest smile but it's still a smile. "And yet you still look absolutely gorgeous."

"Shut up. I look like shit." Beca croaks out.

I hum. "I don't think you could ever look like shit." I say truthfully while sitting on the side of her bed. "I brought you a taco bell but it's probably gone cold."

"Classy." She mutters, rifling through the bag of food. "Thank you."

I purse my lips just watching her eat. Over these past few months I've known Beca, they've been some of the best months in my life. We've hung out almost everyday but yet I never noticed she was struggling.

Quite frankly it's terrifying, how are you meant to know who's struggling when Beca has single handedly proven that sometimes you just don't know when someone isn't okay.

I get snapped out of my thoughts by a fry hitting my nose, I turn to Beca who holds another one up threatening to throw it at me. "Don't you da- BECA!"
