*DIALOGUE IN BOLD IS IN ASL*
It's date night.
Or so Maria wants to call it. So that's what I'll call it.
I had to drive over to my parent's house, all for Anita's opinion on my outfit.
I let Maria choose a type of place to go, and she requested a fancy dinner restaurant. So I found one and made a reservation. But now I don't know if it's a casual fancy, a dress fancy, or regular fancy. I also don't know what either of those phrases mean.
"Anita, this is the only suit I have at the moment." I try to explain myself.
"What happened to the blue one? The dark navy blue one, that we bought together?"
"I forgot I was ironing...it's in the trash."
"How do you mess up that bad?" Felix asks from his seat on the couch, not taking his eyes off of the TV.
"Felix! Adulting is difficult!" I say sarcastically, but Anita just took it as raising my voice, which earned me a slap on the back of my head.
"Sorry, it was meant as a joke." I lower my head, as I say it, then raise it quickly again. "I have a black shirt. Would that go better than a white shirt, for this?"
"Personal preference, I guess." Anita shrugs.
"Papa?" I ask for help.
"Black. It looks sharper, more mature on you." I nod as he says that, black it is. No question when Papa says it.
"Okay, I'll run home and change, beforehand." I say as I pack up the suit that I brought.
I say goodbye to everyone and make sure to ruffle Felix's hair before I turn off the tv, to mess with him more. He didn't like that, the Power Rangers were about to beat the bad guy.
By the time I change and walk out the door to my house, I'm 10 minutes behind. But I took a back road and got to her apartment quicker as there was less traffic. As I pull up I see her, exiting the building. I park my truck on the curb and quickly hop out to greet her.
"You look stunning, Maria." I compliment, as I take in her black dress, that hugs her figure just right.
She also has a dainty necklace, looks expensive, and matching earrings. She has painted her nails black, which I know is rare, not once has she done that before. She did her makeup to match, her natural beauty made more expressive with dark eyes. Pulling it all together a bright, yet dark, red lip.
Modest, yet tempting.
"Thank you. You look absolutely beautiful too. Seems we match." She compliments me back, and I can't help but smile, not at her compliment but at her gorgeous face.
"Great minds think alike." I move my arm out, for her to take. "M'lady."
She takes my arm with a smile. "So, where have you decided for us to go?"
