Shantiny
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 28
First day of senior year.
__________________________________"You can pick out a random place to sit." Deveny tells me while I put my stuff in my locker. "Oh, and place your books at my desk."
I don't know how but my order for my new school books went wrong.
I have books from last year, but Deveny told me we could fix it."Hey, wanna sit together?" Fesco asks me. Obviously, I don't tell him no, we always sit next to each other in class.
"Guess where I was this summer? Spain. I was forced to go. It was the worst." He tells me.
"Are you complaining about spain? how the fuck are you complaining about spain?"
I had to stay in the Netherlands all summer, in the rain and cold. Since summer isn't really summer in the Netherlands.
"I'm white. Remember?" He points at his white skin, his light blue eyes and then he grabs a strand of his blond hair.
"Right... you're still the only person, white or not, I know who hates warm weather. But you can't tell me it wasn't fun?"
"It was fun, but I didn't participate in most activities."
Everyone in class is on their phone or talking about ramdom stuff, after some catching up about how summer was.
Deveny is in the class next to us talking to Mr. Walsh about something.
Probably about baking or something."Hey, hey? Guys, I need your attention for a second." Jeremiah yells through the classroom, swinging with his hands in the air.
"Just a round of applause for me.-" Of course, because why wouldn't we clap for the class clown.
Don't get me wrong, Jeremiah is quite nice. I've grown to like or get used to him over the years.
But I really don't want to listen to him talk at 08:30 in the morning."And for Mailo, Josh, Jamie," He goes on with a small list of names, "Kayden and Shantiny because we've been in the been in shared a class togheter for the past four years."
I didn't expect Jeremiah to come up with that.
"Why is no one clapping, whoooeee." He cheers. He's actually being generous.
Maybe I'm not the only one seeing all of those seniors off 2025 videos.
They are so sweet and heart warming it made me cry multiple times. It made me think about everything we've been through together in school and with people during vacations.
It made me think about the friendships I've greated and the friendship I've ended,
It made me think about the people I've gained but also about the people I've lost.It made me realize that I'm at the last chapter, and soon, I will have to start a new book.

Introduction day of high school.
__________________________________It's the first day of high school.
You're a little nervous or maybe a little anxious, maybe even scared.
You don't know anyone, so you'll have to make new friends. Don't worry, you can do that. You eat your breakfast and pack your school bag.
You pack your lunch and a few books, only the books that you need for that specific day. Then you run to the bus because you don't want to be late.
You listen to music and walk through the school doors for the very first time.
