Task Force 141 were trekking through the thick forest. Birds were chirping their songs before stopping for them to pass. Twigs snapping gently under everyone's feet.

It was mid autumn, the gentle breeze chilled your face as the last of the tree's leaves floated to the ground. There was a light fog that misted over the ground.

The sun was nearly setting. "Let's find an area to camp for the night." Price said as he slung his weapon over his shoulder. Soap and Gaz nodded before dispersing out to find a flat area to sleep.

You pull your helmet off, growing tired of the heaviness of it. "It's too cold out here." You complained. "Not as bad as it could be." Ghost sighed.

"Still, this mission seems pointless." You set your helmet on a nearby rock. "Every mission has a point." Ghost argued. You rolled your eyes.

You and Ghost never got along very well, only being civil for the most part. You two had your arguments but it never boiled over into the next day. Despite all of that, you had a great amount of respect for him. And it seemed he felt the same.

"If it makes you feel better, you can have my blanket." He offered with a lighter tone. He'd been less argumentative lately though you weren't sure why. You shook your head, "Won't you get cold?" he shook his head as well. "I like the cold." A quiet laugh left his lips.

After pulling his gloves off, he kneeled before you and shuffled through his pack, pulled the blanket out and held it out for you. You showed a sincere smile at him as you grabbed it. Your fingers brushed against his and lightning jolted through you.

Memories you didn't know showed themselves for only a second. You blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of the scenes that flashed through your mind. But they were there and gone in a second.

You looked down at Ghost, wondering what happened. The look in his eyes behind his mask was hard to read, but you saw something, just couldn't pinpoint it.

"Thanks," You said quietly. He stood slowly, keeping his eyes in yours. "Yeah," he paused as if he were gathering his thoughts, "I'm gonna go help S-So-Johnny." he shook his head and walked away quickly.

You watched him, confusion and worry swirling in your chest. The memories kept themselves hidden but now looking at Ghost, it felt different. You pushed all thoughts away, focusing on anything else.

After finding a place to sleep, you and TF141 ate dinner quickly and laid down for the night. You couldn't sleep. Not because you were in danger but the memories that belonged to someone else were bothering the ever loving hell out of you.

You gave up trying to sleep for the moment and stood up with Ghost's blanket around your shoulders. Walking away from the boys, you took time to admire the environment around you. The fog was still thick but it felt calmer somehow.

The creatures of the night made their noises that filled your ears, giving you a sense of serenity you didn't feel often. You looked up at the moon and countless stars, spotting Mars, or maybe Jupiter. It flashed so beautifully along with the stars.

"Are you alright?" you heard behind you. You turned to see Ghost standing with a worried look in his eye. Unfamiliar to you. Maybe even for you. You nodded, "Couldn't sleep." You said simply. He stepped closer to you. "We're safe out here, you don't have to worry." He assured. You shook your head, "It's not that." You suddenly felt nervous.

He stood in front of you, not uttering a word. It was like he already knew why you couldn't sleep.

"Can I ask you something?" You said, trying to sound casual. "Please." His tone threw you off. It sounded pleading. The air shifted, once calming now thick with tension.
