"Ah principessa, seems you enjoyed yourself today, hm?" Leo says with a smirk, clearly eyeing the pink and black striped bag

"Did you get the photo of my dress?" I ask timidly, watching him walk closer to me

My heart rate races when I see him come closer

God what is happening to me?

"I did, my apologies for not responding but I wanted to tell you in person how beautiful you were in it" he expresses, suddenly holding eye contact with me

I feel myself blushing as I heard the compliment roll off his tongue

"Thank you" I say quietly as he inches closer and contains eye contact with me

He brings his hand up to my chin "Let's sit, I have to talk to you about some things" he says

He's inches away from my lips at this point and he catches me staring at his

Am I breathing? Did I forget how to breathe?

I nod and pull away from him as I make my way to the kitchen table

"What do we need to talk about?" I'm curious as to what he will say

"Firstly, I wanted to ask who that guy was in the diner? I'm assuming he's your ex-boyfriend, but I know it's always bad to assume" He expresses while crossing his arms

I never thought I'd talk about Jay again, maybe I'll tell him the whole story when I truly trust him

"Oh yeah just some ex-boyfriend..." I say, trying to play it off as it's no big deal

I try to push back all the memories I've forced myself to forget and look back at Leo, hoping he'll change the topic

He sighs "I understand, tomorrow at the gala I want you to try not to talk to anyone..." I nod for him to continue "These men are very serious about what they do and don't like outsiders in the know of their works" Outsiders? I thought this was a work event."

"I understand, what time will we be leaving?" I ask, my voice laced with curiosity

"Well, it starts at 8, but I've arranged for hair and makeup to come at 3 for you if that's alright..." He must've noticed my surprised expression, "But if that's something you're uncomfortable with then I can cancel them" he expresses

"No, its totally fine, I was just caught by surprise I'm sorry" I can't wait to show my mother and father how beautiful I'll be tomorrow 

I get mixed responses as to who I look like more

I have most of my mother's facial features ranging from her brown eyes, long eyelashes and dark brown hair. I get my attitude from my father but also my work ethic

 I had an older brother named Derek, but he unfortunately passed away when I was younger

"Anastasia, are you alright?" the familiar deep voice pulls me out of my thoughts

I notice his expression is a concerned one "Oh yes, sorry I was lost in thought'

Somehow, he manages to pull the chair closer to him, bringing his hand to my chin once more forcing me to reconnect eye contact "I wonder what goes on in that pretty little head of yours?" he whispers, face inches from mine
