As gunshots ring out Leo puts me under his shoulder

"Whatever you do, don't look back" he says guiding me through people, no emotion in his voice

How is he so damn calm? I'm dying inside!

Is this a normal occurrence to him or am I just going crazy?

In shock I don't say anything, I don't even know how i'm moving my legs let alone keeping myself upright

He takes me to a room and sits me down in a corner and hands me a gun

Woah, i've never shot a gun before let alone held one

"The safety is off, you shoot anyone who comes in that door that isn't me alright"  he demands and I nod my head understandingly, I then watch as he takes another gun and runs out of the room

What the fuck do I do, just sit here and wait for the door to open hoping it's him?

How am I supposed to have to courage to shoot this gun if someone comes in

The muffled gunfire goes on for what seems like eternity before I see the door knob start turning

Feeling relieved I take my finger off the trigger and start walking towards the door before noticing it isn't Leo walking in the room

I feel a punch fly straight to my face

"Oh my god, oh my fucking god i'm so sorry" A timid female voice is heard

I recover from the blow to realize it's a girl who looks to be the same age as me, with an equally terrified look on her face

"No it's fine totally, you're very strong" I groan, massaging where she hit me

We both grab onto each other as another person makes their was through the door and we both scream

"What the fuck Anastasia?" Leo says confused as to why i'm all over another girl

Phew "Oh thank god Leo" I say holding my chest

"Y-you know him?" The girl questions

"Yes don't worry we're safe, did you come with anyone?" I question before yet another person comes through the door

We scream... again

Leo was quick to aim his gun at this guys head

Wouldn't want to be him right now

"Olivia!" the man says thankfully

"He's with you?" Leo questions, emotionless yet again

Nonchalant men these days

"Yes, yes! He's my husband!" Olivia says rushing over to him, then both embracing each other

Before I get to say bye Leo is pulling me out as we go through an emergency exit

The walk to the car is awfully silent, but we make it inside

"So, are you going to tell me what that was about" I ask

"Nothing to tell" he shrugs coldly

He's refusing to make eye contact with me, which I understand due to what happened tonight

"Oh" I whisper, my eyes glued to the window

Don't cry, don't cry

I feel a hand placed on my thigh, rubbing it reassuringly

"I'm sorry, I'll explain everything to you when the time comes" He whispers, a hint of guilt in his voice

I nod as I put my hand over his, he turns his hand around, lacing our fingers together

But why? Why does he have to wait? What time?

I unlace our fingers "What's that supposed to mean? Why can't you just tell me!" I exclaim, my voice raising an octave

"Anastasia you don't and will never understand" He mumbles

The rest of the drive home is pure silence, the kind of silence where the only thing I can hear is our breathing and the faint music playing on the radio

As he pulls into my driveway I spot my parents care

They weren't supposed to be back until tomorrow night but i'm happy they are here

I rush out of the car and inside where my parents are having dinner at the table

"Mom, dad!" I exclaim gratefully

"My beautiful Anastasia!" they both exclaim back as we're rushing to comfort each other in our embraces

"Oh my, Ana, you look absolutely beautiful" My mom whispers

Not long after, Leo walks in and nods to my parents

"Welcome back" He says with a smile

Do I tell them? Will he?

"I actually have something to talk to you all about" He says, motioning us to sit at the table

"Is everything okay Leonardo?" My mother asks softly

"Oh yes everything is perfect, however I wanted to inform everyone that I have found my own place here because i'm deciding to stay in this town permanently" He says, smiling once again

How does someone get their teeth that white

I honestly have no clue

I notice that when Leo is done talking him and my father exchange a look, but the look is not shared with my mother, who only has a look of excitement on her face

"That's amazing!" My mom says

Moving here?

The debrief with Aubrey tonight is going to send her into a coma

"Indeed it is Leo, do you mind if we have a chat in my office?" My father asks, followed by a nod from Leo

As the two of them walk to my fathers office Im happy to have this time between my mother and I

"So honey, how is he? God I feel like we haven't seen him since he was a teenager!"

I can't tell her about the car make out session

I feel my cheeks turning pink

"He's really good company" I respond blandly, not knowing what else to say

She smiles, and takes my hand

"How about tomorrow we have a mother daughter day?"

She knows the way to my heart, I feel like we never get to spend time together

My smile grows wider "I would love that mom" I respond

Our talk is cut short by the sound of laughter coming out of my fathers office

I can't try anything with Leo, can I?

My father sees him like a little brother, it will crush him

My father is very sensitive, that's where I got it from
