Violet lived for the glamour of dressing to the nines and enjoying herself to the fullest, and as such, nothing - not even Bloom's presence at the celebration - could rain on her parade.

Taking her time in arranging every softly curled lock, in fastening each piece of crystal jewellery, and in applying the final touches to her makeup, she rose from her vanity and decided she was finally ready.

"Well, what do you think?" she asked as she gave the two members of her audience an elegant twirl.

"You look radiant," Amy said.

Jenny nodded fervently in agreement.

Her words rang true. Violet looked as lovely as the flower she was named after. Her hair flowed in romantic brown waves down her back, loose except for a single barrette clipping it behind. Her complexion looked silvery, offset by the shine of diamonds resting on her neck. Her gown matched her name too; a royal violet which draped elegantly over her figure and shimmered at the slightest move.

"Forget Eraklyon, they should be celebrating you!" Jenny exclaimed. "Seriously, you look even prettier than usual, Vi. You've completely knocked my socks off."

Violet barked out a laugh. "Jenny, sometimes I think you should be the fairy of compliments. But really, thanks, guys, you've helped a lot. I could squish you both to mush!"

Amy chuckled. "As much as we'd love that, I think you've got an airship to catch. You can squish us after you're done being Cinderella for the night."

"Make sure to have fun - and to tell us about any especially handsome guys that are there," Jenny added, winking in a very exaggerated manner.

Violet laughed. "Sure I will, if there are any handsome men. But don't be too dissapointed if I only come back with tales of stodgy old ones."

With a last farewell to them both, she practically floated down the corridor in her gown, already dreaming about what she'd be doing on a night like this. First she'd track down Diaspro and the two of them would catch up, - even though their constant texting made it so they had very little to truly catch up on - next they'd take time judging the hors'd'oevres, and by that point some noble or the other would've tracked down at least one of them and begged a dance, after which they'd both be pulled into respective social obligations before finally sitting down for the feast. It was a fine plan, and Violet was always more than happy to be by the side of her dearest friend - but she also knew tonight would not be like those other nights, especially not for Diaspro.

Losing her fiancé to an affair had made it very difficult for her to see him again, and watching Bloom by his side would undoubtedly be harder, especially as that girl had talked eagerly about making their relationship official before everyone at the celebration.

Violet had barely kept her composure when she'd been forced to be next to her during detention, fighting the urge to beat her relentlessly. So she could only imagine how much harder Diaspro would find it.

In truth, Violet saw the situation as both a curse and a blessing, but had kept her thoughts wisely to herself. The reality was that ever since they were children, Violet had always harboured the strange feeling that Sky didn't love Diaspro nearly half as much as she loved him. He went through the motions of love but scarcely did anything above the minimum, and even then she suspected it was due to the pressure his parents applied.

Unable to suggest she break off a royal engagement entirely, Violet had heavily suggested Diaspro match his energy, or lack-thereof, with her own coldness to show how two could play that game, but the blonde had only smiled and claimed she was breaking him out of his shell and that she was determined to have a happy future marriage.
