"Mother!" River shrieked, "Father!" She spotted two bodies in the riverbank and her heart broke. They couldn't have died. It was only a small flood.
She sadly buried the bodies. Her home was destroyed. Her family was gone. She didn't know how to hunt. She would die.
She settled into her nest. Right in this moment, she would consider dying. If she was brave enough, she would not eat anything and die, but there was a lingering feeling in her body that told her, No! You are important! You must stay alive!
Suddenly, she heard a whisper, "The river and lily will form a powerful friendship, and will rise to defeat the evil flood with the help of the 'four in the sand."
She whipped around, but saw no one.
