The sandcruiser came near the small city of Zanzabar, where people of the lower class were trading and or entering the city. The cruiser came to almost a stop trying to get to the nearby port where they needed to leave the cruiser.
"Does everyone and their mother have to be here today?" Asher crossed his arms in his fit.
"Are you getting angered over going slow?" A chuckle came over Hesperia, she didn't know Asher got road rage.
"I just want to get this done and over with..." A more serious tone was in his voice.
"Asher, do you not like the temple?"
"Yes, but also I have been summoned by the council of the temple a while ago and just haven't gone to see the temple to hear from them. I fear I might know what they will say."
Dust was everywhere, not unusual for a desert planet, but it also made it hard to just see or breathe. "Better cover your face, wouldn't want to get such a beautiful thing dirty," Asher spoke in a way that made chills go up her spine, exciting the port Asher felt more like himself and yet still had nerves over what the council might say. Hesperia did what Asher suggested, but this also made Asher blend in with the crowd, making it hard to tell who was who in the crowd.
"Asher wait!" Hesperia called out as the crowd got thicker. Damn it, why is everyone here? Thoughts like these clouded her mind from the one thing she needed to focus on. "Asher?" She called out, but no response. Okay, I need to ground myself and not have emotions take over, she told herself. Holding her chest she tried to calm herself down, now only if she could do what she did before and look for Asher's soul, if she could just see it she could follow it. A panging feeling started to grow in her stomach as she stretched herself farther and farther, but still no Asher. It helped her remember the feeling of his soul to try and locate him, but it still seemed like nothing was working.
"Damn." Once more Hesperia reached, but this time called out Asher's name, she didn't know if she was doing something or if Asher could hear her, but it was worth a try. "Please Asher, I need you." Worry started to grow as well, the fact Hesperia had never really been in Zanzabar didn't help. All she knew was shady people came through here. "Asher, please." She reached out again, and this time she barely felt him. A spark of hope ignited in her, his soul felt to be east. Running through people now Hesperia tried focusing in on his soul to keep that feeling, he felt so close. Close enough to touch him, but was cut off. Almost like someone put a wall around her, she couldn't feel Asher anymore. A gasp left her mouth as she found herself in the middle of a crowd and yet lost again, defeat flooded her.
A hand grabbed Hesperia from behind, she turned to be met with familiar teal eyes.
"Asher!" She hugged him.
"Woah, someone is excited to see me." Tears pricked her eyes.
"Please don't leave me again." A string tugged on his heart from her words.
"No need to worry princess, I knew where you were the whole time. Didn't help you got into my head somehow." Asher reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, "Pretty sure if I get a headache, it will be from you yelling in my head. By the way...where did you learn to speak telepathically? I'm not even trained very well in such." Blush grew on Hesperia's cheeks as she realized he did hear her and what she said, but no one ever taught her how to do so. Grabert only taught, well tried to teach her to reach out her soul to others. Wasn't hard if you had the mana for it and a good teacher. But was still a skill only those with great mana could do.
"Anyways, the temple is nearby, stay close this time." Asher looked down at her. Hesperia wasn't going to take the chance of losing him again, so she grabbed his hand. Asher was startled but realized shortly after what she had done. "Don't worry princess, you are in safe hands." A chuckle came from him as the two went back into the giant crowd of people.
