Winter Kim walked through the crowded halls of SMC High, her gaze fixed straight ahead. The familiar sounds of lockers slamming, students laughing, and hurried footsteps surrounded her, but she remained unfazed. In her usual composed manner, she weaved through the crowds, her long black hair cascading down her back. Winter was the school's ice queen, and she preferred it that way. She wasn't interested in making friends or getting caught up in teenage dramas. Her focus was solely on her academics-graduating top of her class and getting into the university of her dreams.
As she approached her locker, she heard a group of girls giggling nearby. Rolling her eyes, she ignored them, but their conversation caught her attention.
"Have you seen the new guy?" one girl whispered excitedly. "He's in our grade, and he's gorgeous!"
Winter raised an eyebrow. New guy? This was the first she'd heard of it.
"I heard he transferred from Seoul," another girl added. "Yoo Jimin, I think? Everyone's talking about him."
Winter wasn't the type to be intrigued by gossip, but the name lingered in her mind as she continued to open her locker. "Yoo Jimin," she thought, briefly wondering what all the fuss was about.

Later, in Class
Winter entered her English class and headed straight to her seat near the window. She pulled out her notebook, preparing for the lesson, when the classroom door swung open. The room instantly buzzed with whispers, and Winter glanced up, mildly curious.
In walked the new student-Yoo Jimin.
He was tall, with short black hair that fell slightly into his eyes. His uniform was slightly undone, giving him an air of casual confidence, and he wore a playful smirk as he greeted the teacher. There was something about his presence that drew attention, though Winter couldn't quite place it.
"Good morning, class," the teacher began. "We have a new student joining us today. This is Yoo Jimin. Please make him feel welcome."
Jimin's eyes scanned the room, and for a brief moment, they locked with Winter's. She quickly looked away, uninterested in whatever charm had everyone else mesmerized.
"Yoo, you can take a seat next to Winter," the teacher said, motioning to the empty desk beside her. Winter's heart sank. Great.
Jimin sauntered over, dropping into the seat with a grin. "Nice to meet you," he said in a low, friendly voice.
Winter gave him a curt nod, focusing on the lesson ahead. She had no intention of getting involved with him or anyone else. But as the class went on, she could feel his eyes on her, and she couldn't help but wonder what this new boy was thinking.

After Class
As soon as the bell rang, Winter packed up her things quickly, eager to leave. But before she could make her exit, Jimin stepped in front of her, blocking her path with a playful smile.
"Hey, I didn't catch your name," he said, leaning casually against the desk.
Winter sighed. "It's Winter," she replied flatly, trying to move past him.
"Winter?" Jimin repeated, his grin widening. "Cool name. Matches your vibe."
"Is there something you need?" Winter asked, her patience wearing thin.
Jimin shrugged. "Not really. Just figured I'd introduce myself to my desk partner."
"Well, consider it done," Winter said, pushing past him. She could feel his eyes on her as she left the classroom, but she didn't. He was playing. Winter had enough on her plate without some charming new boy thinking he could worm his way into her life.
