The day after their spicy sleepover (Orm would argue that it was clearly not spicy enough), both women started preparations for the mini and official pilot filming. Their days became filled with back-to-back meetings and workshops, allowing both women to immerse themselves slowly into the characters of Fahlada and Earn.
Ling and Orm spent most of their days together, basking in each other's presence. It was strange because often, when they were on their break, they would sit beside each other on the floor, some chairs, or a sofa, and not need to speak a word to each other at all. Their wordless moments of relaxation felt so...calming and comforting. Orm had never felt so comfortable sitting next to someone in complete silence...but she felt that way with Ling.
However, one thing they couldn't seem to do was sit far apart. If they were in the same room, they'd automatically gravitate towards one another.
Another thing they were not capable of was that they couldn't stop the skinship. Light touches or lingering caresses were a norm, whether it would be Orm's fingers entwining with Ling's or Ling's hand resting against Orm's thigh. Sometimes, Ling would absentmindedly draw lazy circles along Orm's exposed skin. She didn't quite know how to break it to the older woman that those small actions would get her all hot and bothered (it was one thing to be hot and bothered in private together, but when her mum, along with more than 10+ other adults in the room? Not good!).
Lastly, they couldn't stop looking or stealing glances at each other. Let's be honest here. Lingling Kwong looked like a literal goddess in the flesh. Often, Ling would post a selfie on her Instagram account, and the algorithm would flag the photo as potentially AI-generated. IMAGINE THAT?! Talk about perfect visuals, huh? And, and...she got to make out with said woman...in a jacuzzi...and on her bed. And...that same woman was the person who initiated it in the first place.
INTERNAL SCREAMINGGG. I MUST BE THE LUCKIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD.
Orm could feel her face heating up at the mere thought of Ling's lips against hers. Ah, she was having a Lingling Kwong meltdown, and it was absolutely fucking fabulous.
Orm often blushed even harder when she caught Ling staring at her. Upon being caught, Ling would flash her gorgeous smile and look embarrassed. There were rare cases when Ling would suddenly muster some bravado and hold those stares, and guess who'd lose that staring contest? Orm, of course.
Finally, the first day of filming was here. When the girls arrived at the studio early that morning, there was so much hustle and bustle that Orm could already feel her blood thrumming with excitement. It's happening. This was all happening! They were ushered into rooms to get their makeup done and try on various outfits to ensure the fit was perfect. Oh, how Orm loved the clothes. Turtleneck sweaters, long coats, leather boots and essentially, the kind of clothes you could never wear in Bangkok because it was far too hot here. Winter did not even exist in Bangkok. It was either hot, really bloody hot or rainy.
The directors explained that many scenes to be shot today would need to give the feel that they were in an overseas country, hence the different styles of clothing because Earn and Fahlada meet and fall in love while overseas during their studies. The break-up scene will also be filmed today, which made Orm anxious. Dramatic scenes with raw emotion were always challenging to master, especially in this case, because Fahlada and Earn are supposed to be so head over heels with each other. So, for them to break up, the scene would have to convey the raw, heart-wrenching agony one feels when separating from the love of your life. Just the thought of seeing Ling cry already tugged at her heartstrings.
About an hour later, the girls arrive at the first filming location. Just outside the central city is a beautiful, sprawling estate. Lush greenery, trees and gardens surround the entire area, with a long driveway leading to the mansion. Ling and Orm were notified that this would be one of the prominent filming locations in the future, predominantly as Earn's house.
