Sydney, Australia
The Night of the Exhibition
The grand hall buzzed with energy as guests from all over the world gathered to witness the unveiling of Henry Valois' rare diamond collection, the Lady of Thorn. Crystal chandeliers reflected off polished floors, and the air was filled with the hum of conversations, clinking glasses, and soft classical music in the background.
The launch of the Lady of Thorn diamond exhibition kicked of in grand fashion. Around 60 VVIP guests from all corners of the globe gathered at the Sydney Diamond Museum.
These were no ordinary visitors - they were high-profile figures, elite diamond traders, and collectors ready to spend fortunes on owning the one-of-a-kind diamond.
The Lady of Thorn was in a class of its own, made from the finest materials, including a fragment of the famous Cullinan diamond. Its estimated value hovered near a staggering 100 million dollars, and it shimmered like no other jewel on earth.
This priceless gem sat in a glass case, protected by the highest levels of security: visitors were kept at a safe distance, CCTV cameras covered over 100 angles, and alarms were equipped with motion and body temperature sensors.
Among the crowd, Engfa and Faye stood quietly, observing as the exhibition began. Marima and her team took center stage with Henry Valois, unveiling the Lady of Thorn to the eager attendees.
"Everything's set, Voss," Apo's voice crackled through Engfa's earpiece.
She nodded subtly, as did Faye. "Faith, Harley, Heaven - move backstage now. Flame, report your position."
Faye gracefully glided through the crowd, her white gown clinging to her frame as she smiled, accepted a glass of champagne, and slipped away unnoticed to the back of the stage.
Engfa kept her eyes fixed on Marima and Henry Valois and the others as questions about the diamond arose.
Occasionally, she glanced at her watch, counting down the seconds.
"I'm in position," Mew's voice came through from a nearby motel window, her rifle trained on the stage.
"Hold position, Flame," Engfa ordered.
She then took a few steps back, disappearing into a side room, leaving the door ajar.
Moments later, the lights went out. Chaos erupted as alarms blared, signaling something had gone terribly wrong.
In the whispers and panicked murmurs, Engfa knew-it was time.
Backstage, Faye, Meena, and Lingling prepared for action.
Suddenly, a group ambushed them. A fierce fight broke out, and while Lingling was struck down, Faye and Meena managed to disable their attackers.
"Harley's hit!" Faye barked, as she and Meena helped Lingling, who had a knife lodged in her leg, rush out of the backstage area.
Meanwhile, atop a nearby abandoned building, Orm and Aoom were in a helicopter. Orm began to unstrap herself to jump out, but Aoom grabbed her wrist. "Unikorn! Stay in position!" Orm, panicked, sat back down, quickly fastening her headset.
In a black van a few meters away from the venue, Snack and Patcha exchanged glances. Patcha was already furiously typing away on her laptop, preparing to execute a code when Engfa's voice halted her. "Stop everything! Stay in position, Unikorn! Fusion, A.J., don't turn on the lights yet. Heaven, Faith, get Harley to the van."
Engfa inhaled deeply. This mission couldn't fail now-they had arrived.
The tension escalated as the security team began evacuating the guests.
