Chapter 24 - Third Time's a Charm

Faye, Engfa, and Charlotte sat together in the same car, making their way back to the hotel. The rest of their group followed in separate vehicles, each accompanied by their own security teams, keeping a watchful eye on the road ahead. The drive back to the hotel would take about 20 minutes.

"We're really not going to have time to visit Merlion Park, huh? Ugh," Charlotte grumbled, noticing how distant Engfa seemed since the car started moving.

Faye, sitting in the front seat, laughed, "No way! Nice try, but no dates for you!"

"Don't be jealous! Just take Yoko!" Charlotte snapped back.

Engfa glanced at Charlotte briefly, her thoughts clearly elsewhere, but managed a small smile.
"I'll take you there another time, Char," she promised softly.

Faye burst out laughing even more.

Charlotte pouted and turned to look out the window.

Meanwhile, Engfa couldn't stop thinking about Jeff Satur. He had shown up in person earlier, delivering a direct threat. On top of that, she was still concerned about the two black BMWs they had seen outside Henry's apartment earlier that day.

Suddenly, Faye's phone rang, interrupting the laughter. Her expression turned serious as she listened.

- "We're on our way."

She turned to her bodyguard, who was driving the car. "Change our destination to Henry's apartment."

Looking back at Engfa, she said, "Fa... Henry's apartment has been trashed. Someone broke in."

Engfa immediately straightened up, nodding.

Charlotte, confused, asked, "Wait, what do you mean, P'Faye? Was Henry robbed?"

Faye glanced at Charlotte for a moment before picking up her phone.

Engfa turned to Charlotte. "We don't know yet, but it looks like someone broke into a heavily guarded apartment."

Meanwhile, Faye was on the phone, most likely talking to Apo, giving him instructions.

- "Apo, listen up. Engfa and I are heading straight to Henry Valois' place. Something happened."

- "It looks like his apartment got broken into. We don't know the details yet. You and the others stay at the hotel. Wait for further instructions from me."

- "We'll keep you updated once we know more. Just make sure the hotel security is tight. Don't let your guard down."

Faye exhaled as she put her phone away, turning back to Engfa, who was now fully focused. "Apo and the team will stay at the hotel."

Engfa nodded in agreement, while Charlotte, still confused, tried to make sense of the situation.

Charlotte sank back into her seat, her mind racing. She wasn't naive; this was likely connected to Suphatra's statement about the fake diamonds.

The burglars, or rather the diamond thieves, probably thought Henry had the real ones.

Now, somehow, Warasorn Diamonds was explicitly tangled in this chaos due to their relationship with Henry Valois. That thought circled in Charlotte's mind.

Why were there so many coincidences in this situation?

She frowned at the tangled web unfolding around her.

When they arrived at the apartment, Singapore police cars were already there. Henry's apartment was taped off, and three of the guards had been shot and killed inside.
